  1. From what I can gather, no, or at least not any time soon. ? A recruiter told me there are no open positions for new grads at this time & they are still on a hiring freeze. I hope something changes soon but it doesn't seem super promising
  2. I was told there are “no open positions” at this time, but that I could check back in a few weeks. ? I may just start looking out of state at this point LOL
  3. I applied to Bellevue, NYP Brooklyn and Cornell, NYU Brooklyn, Mt Sinai, Northwell Lenox Hill & Staten Island. Lots of places seem to be on a hiring freeze now, it's a frustrating time to be job hunting ?
  4. Oh boy, that's discouraging ? LOL
  5. Mine also says under review, but it's been that way since mid-March
  6. I have a feeling they might be holding off on the new grad residency for now because of COVID-19. Lots of hospitals are focusing all their energy & resources on training their staff to respond to the crisis, and teaching a group of new hires may not be feasible at the moment ?
  7. Seems like it varies by hospital. I know that NYP/Weill Cornell cancelled its ER New Grad Residency program, and other places in NYC are pushing back start dates as well. Lots of nurses are being told they cannot use masks & gloves, and that they have to reuse the same mask every day. I agree with the others who've said it really depends on your circumstances. Training for new hires might be easier outside of the epicenters. Personally I live with relatives who are over 65, and at the moment I have nowhere else to go, so it's not an easy decision!
  8. Yes, it was New York Presbyterian / Weill Cornell's new graduate ER residency. Two of my friends applied & received emails this week that they cancelled the program
  9. I've heard of at least one hospital in NYC that cancelled their new grad nurse residency program due to coronavirus. ? I'm not sure what other hospitals are doing, but it seems like we may be waiting a while since they're focused on training their own staff to deal with the pandemic & getting the resources they need
  10. Hey, I applied on February 23rd but I haven't heard anything yet! ?
