NYU Accelerated Nursing Program 2008

Published

Hey!

I thought I should start a thread for people who applied to the NYU 15 Month Accelerated Nursing Program for Fall 2008.

Lets all be friends while we wait for April 1st to come around!

Does anybody have any info the selection process? Obviously it's competitive, but are they looking at anything in particular? (GPA, Pre-reqs, Extra-curriculars, etc.)

Hi All!

For NYU, it's three weeks notification from the date of which your acceptance letter is postmarked, so for those that haven't heard yet...you still have time and won't miss out!

Hope this helps! Good luck and hang in there!

Thanks MsBridgeMac for your timely response to my question and also for the encouragement!

:nuke:

Hey everyone! I just was accepted to the program yesterday! I waited soo long, they are all still in the mail I'm sure!

I was wondering what most people were going to do about the living situation. I'm trying to decide if I should sign up for on campus housing/not.. what's everyone doing???

You have to let them know your decision within 3 weeks!

first off I want to say congratulations! second I am a firm beiliever in student housing, look at my previous posts why. and you have to remember the class load that we will be taking, ill be lucking to be in my room just to sleep

thanks for that speedy response! I'm glad i found this website, its answering so many of my questions :yelclap:

I want to introduce myself- my name is Danielle, I'm 21 years old (will be 22 in August) and just graduated from James Madison University in Virginia. I live on Long Island and am very happy to be back in NY. I think that I am leaning towards living on campus, I was hoping to live in a dorm where I would be able to have my own bedroom. I thought that I saw that they had those? I definately want to set something up with someone, this way we could be on the same type of schedule and I wouldn't be placed with an undergrad. Let me know if anyone is interested :)

hi danielle,

for your situation it will be next to impossible to find a single bedroom, but when you request housing you can say you prefer a single and they'll try to accomidate. also, I would recommend for this school year to not try to match up with a roomate. your odds of getting a nicer room/building are significantly higher if you enter the housing as a single. If you find that your roomate is some sexcrazed drum player then there is room changes after the first two weeks. search my other posts where I provided a link to the housing options.

good luck

and once again congratulations

joe

Hi Moira and Addie,

I just sent my application to PACE yesterday. Question - did you take the GRE or MAT? Do they prefer one over the other? I am planning to take the MAT. I suppose they wont even review my application until this is complete??

Thanks!!

ah man.. I really think I'm going to need my own room. If anyone wants to room together and find an apartment near by campus let me know. I think the more people you have, the cheaper it actually is. . let me know if anyone would be interested in doing that :nuke:

I think that they only take the GRE -- I could be wrong. And yes, they don't review your application until it is complete. Good luck!!!!

Does anybody have any info on the 26th street housing? it looks like it is close to the dental school which is where our school is? I don't really know.

it is close to the dental school but it's not where are classes are, from what I heard 26th st is the oldest/worst building and its 3 blocks away from the subway. its popular for med students since its across from the NYU hospital

I GOT IN TOO!!!!!! GOODNESS THIS IS EXCITING! HOWEVERRRR....idk if i'm gonna go because I also got accepted to this school in Nevada called Touro University and i think it'd be a great opportunity to get out of NY since I'm from here and would like to experience a new environment...
