NYU Accelerated Nursing Fall 2020

Hi guys! Thought I'd make a forum for NYU's ABSN Program for fall 2020.

Let me introduce myself. My name is Alexis Paige. Currently in California. I received my BA in psych from a private university with a GPA below 3.0. Took pre-reqs in multiple community college while working. Ended up with the same GPA as undergrad ?

Here's my stats:

Anatomy: C (planning to retake in spring 2020)

Physio: A-

Microbio: C+ (planning to retake in spring 2020)

Chem for health sciences: C+

Nutrition: A

Stats: C

Lifespan dev: B

Volunteer experience at Stanford University. Do you think I have chance with NYU? I feel like my only hope in getting in are the letter of recs + personal essay.

Feel free to comment whatever is on your mind. What are your stats? Where are you from and what other schools will you be applying at? Help a sistah out!

I called admissions again and they said that they already started accepting ppl off of the waitlist & that we can hear up until aug 1st ? I REALLY hope we find out soon

August 1st ?!?!? Jeeeeez. They keep pushing the date back. First it was July 13, then July 15, and now August 1st. They’re really trying to test who wants this badly. That’s just my opinion.

Yeah ? I called and they said they send out acceptances as spots open up. So I’m guessing they don’t have any spots currently since every who has been accepted has already had to put their deposit

I don’t think that they don’t have any more open spots, per se; I think way more people applied than we surmised and that they are carefully selecting students. There are also a slew of students outside of this forum that might be getting off the wait list. I also think new policy has been implemented. Maybe they are considering that because learning will be remote except for clinicals, that they should accept more students.

There are always multiple perspectives. Think the best of any situation. Don’t get so down on yourself. Keep the faith.

So I called the admissions office earlier and they said that since they sent out waitlists earlier in June, there hasn't been anymore acceptances since then. They also plan on letting us know by July 15th, so I'm not really sure if the August 1st date is correct.

Heyyy, sorry, I'm just a little confused. What does this mean? They haven't moved people off the waitlist yet?

I think it means that no one has been accepted off the waitlist.

I really think they are still seeing how many spots they have after counting totals Of people who accepted their offer and what not, and once they know they’ll let us know on July 15th if they have spots open. I do not think they are letting the people on the waitlist know as soon as a spot gets available. They probably will just let us all know on that specific date, I guess it’s easier for them. I do not think this is the same process as the initial acceptance process. I feel like with all that’s going on, people have already withdrew/ declined their offer and they would’ve told us by now if they were doing it immediately. I’m sure there’s going to be spots, just we have to wait till next month for a sure response. That’s just my opinion, does not mean it’s true. This is why I still put my deposit down and had my schedule done at another school, and told that school if NYU accepts me I will be going there instead, just in case things change.
