NYU Accelerated Nursing Fall 2020

Published

Hi guys! Thought I'd make a forum for NYU's ABSN Program for fall 2020.

Let me introduce myself. My name is Alexis Paige. Currently in California. I received my BA in psych from a private university with a GPA below 3.0. Took pre-reqs in multiple community college while working. Ended up with the same GPA as undergrad ?

Here's my stats:

Anatomy: C (planning to retake in spring 2020)

Physio: A-

Microbio: C+ (planning to retake in spring 2020)

Chem for health sciences: C+

Nutrition: A

Stats: C

Lifespan dev: B

Volunteer experience at Stanford University. Do you think I have chance with NYU? I feel like my only hope in getting in are the letter of recs + personal essay.

Feel free to comment whatever is on your mind. What are your stats? Where are you from and what other schools will you be applying at? Help a sistah out!

I sent it again by email, but the name of the group is "NYU Accelerated Nursing Fall 2020" and this link should work if you can't find it

Do you think they’ll send out more acceptance this Friday? I keep checking my portal even though I know there’s nothing there

I think they send out decisions every 2 weeks, so maybe next Friday! Good luck!

From what I’ve read, they can send us acceptances all the way up until June. I know a lot of us are on edge but maybe distract yourself and try not to look. It will quell your anxiety!

Hi everyone! I called the financial aid office and they informed me that if we don't receive the package by the time we have to accept/decline the offer, we can reach out to Admissions to let them know that we haven't received the financial aid package, and they should be able to extend the deadline for us. Just thought I'd share in case some people don't want to commit without having the full picture!

I applied at the end of February, when do you think I will hear back?

Hey guys no one has heard anything today right? Is it because is a holiday? ?

I actually just heard back and I got in, but will most likely not attend to go to Mt. Sinai. I guess they really do respond 3-5pm

Heyyy, congratulations!! If you don't mind me asking, when did you apply to NYU, and what were your grades/experiences like?

WOW! CONGRATS! did they email you or you saw it in your portal??

Thanks everyone! It feels super surreal to have gotten into NYU. Unless they gave me an incredible scholarship package I'd have to pass, but I do feel pretty honored.

*edited to add: I got an email notifying me that there was an update to my app, and then went into the portal.

I applied priority like a week or two before priority deadline, late feb.

I had worked for years as a case manager, and did loads of care coordination, so I spoke about that in my essay. Lots of collab with nurses, doctors, APRNs, FNPs, etc so I have a pretty good idea of what community nurses actually do.

I did really well in my undergrad and had a 3.9 GPA

API: B+

Chem: B+

MicroBio: A- (hybrid)

Nutrition:A (online)

Stats: A (hybrid)

Lifespan: A (online)

I'm taking APII RN. posting all this because I know I'd look at people's stats and see what they got and compare myself too, I hope you all hear back soon!
