Hi guys! Thought I'd make a forum for NYU's ABSN Program for fall 2020.
Let me introduce myself. My name is Alexis Paige. Currently in California. I received my BA in psych from a private university with a GPA below 3.0. Took pre-reqs in multiple community college while working. Ended up with the same GPA as undergrad ?
Here's my stats:

Feel free to comment whatever is on your mind. What are your stats? Where are you from and what other schools will you be applying at? Help a sistah out!

I’ve been waiting to hear back about aid too. I might call today

I also have a good amount of Chemistry and biology courses on my transcript. I am also a C.P.R Certified CNA and will have been working as one for a year prior to the start of NYU's program. I have first hand hours of experience with RNs, NPs, and MDs in Upstate NY & NYC.
I am super nervous to apply because I do not feel that I am competitive as yet. Please if you all can give me any advice, it would be appreciated. Thank you.
Hi Vanessa don't be nervous. You'll never know until you try. Definitely apply to more than one school and see how it goes from there.

Thank you! and also, I'm confused- we have to accept/decline our offers within 2 weeks of the date on the acceptance and the letter says we should be getting them within 7 days..so we have to make a decision without knowing our financial aid situation? Strange...
To anyone else thats been accepted, have you guys found a facebook page for our cohort yet?? I'm not sure if I should try to create one (I don't know how to even do that though LOL), but I thought it would be helpful for navigating through this entire process and finding roommates and stuff!

I know I thought the same thing! I also called two weeks ago and they told me I should be hearing back within a couple of business days, but I never did so thats why I called again. I'm not sure how much aid we would get as it is a second degree program but I'm kind of counting on it
I accepted my offer anyways because I wouldn't be hearing back from my other schools for awhile

No FB page that I know of! But would be a good idea to get in touch with everyone somehow outside of this forum.
I just e-mailed the financial aid office..they shouldn't be forcing our hands with accepting/declining the offer without providing the financial aid package. If they give me a different answer via e-mail, I'll let you know!

Please do. I got accepted to two other colleges and they already sent me their packages. One of them is less than half of NYU and that sounds very tempting right now. I just wished they worked much faster that way people can plan accordingly.

I say apply since NYU is known for taking a holistic view of their applicants. Nothing to lose really, but just an application fee. Keep options open also and apply to as many schools as possible ?
