Hi guys! Thought I'd make a forum for NYU's ABSN Program for fall 2020.
Let me introduce myself. My name is Alexis Paige. Currently in California. I received my BA in psych from a private university with a GPA below 3.0. Took pre-reqs in multiple community college while working. Ended up with the same GPA as undergrad ?
Here's my stats:
Anatomy: C (planning to retake in spring 2020)
Physio: A-
Microbio: C+ (planning to retake in spring 2020)
Chem for health sciences: C+
Nutrition: A
Stats: C
Lifespan dev: B
Volunteer experience at Stanford University. Do you think I have chance with NYU? I feel like my only hope in getting in are the letter of recs + personal essay.
Feel free to comment whatever is on your mind. What are your stats? Where are you from and what other schools will you be applying at? Help a sistah out!

where else are you guys applying to?
You have to contact admissions- I don’t think anyone in this thread so far knows the answer ☹️
I’m applying to NYU, Pace, Mercy, Binghamton, UCF, USF, Miami, Nova, and I was accepted to Drexel but won’t be attending.

Yea can can someone contact admissions? I called like 2 weeks ago but forgot to ask about the 200 students thing. & are the Florida schools expensive? Florida is so beautiful and I've always thought of applying there. but so farrr :(

Florida schools are more expensive for out of state students, but the ones I’m applying to aren’t that bad. Miami ends up around the same price as Pace (55-60k), the others are a bit cheaper. It’s worth it for me though because I eventually want to move to Florida permanently.
Hello All,
I am 28 years old and currently reside in New York City. I am a alumna of Hunter College: BA Psychology '14, BA Sociology '17. While I completed my second BA i took a few pre-reqs. I've also taken pre-reqs at Fordham U, City College of Tech, and John Hopkins School of Nursing online, I originally wanted to do PT, and then PA, but am not interested in taking organic chemistry/or biochem. I lost my passion for physical therapy while working in the field. My stats are as follows:
Pre-Reqs:
A&P I w/lab: B+
A&P II w/lab: B
Stats: A
Microbio w/lab: B+
Chem I: A-
Chem Lab: A
Dev Psych: A
Nutrition: Summer 2020
Volunteer experiences:
Lenox Hill Hospital: 2012
Mt. Sinai SLR (St. Luke's): 2015
Mt. Sinai Queens: 2016
VA NY Healthcare Harbor System: 2017
Work:
Physical Therapist Aide: 2016-2019
Children's Care Manager: 2019-current
Certifications:
Chemicals and Health
Psychological First Aid
Victim Intervention Program (rape, domestic violence, and sexual assault)
The reason why I am posting this is because I took Microbio online at John Hopkins School of Nursing. I will also be taking Nutrition online. I wonder if that will hinder my acceptance. Any thoughts?
Also, does NYU ABSN offer any scholarships?

If you don’t mind sharing, what were your stats for Drexel? Applying to them for their Spring ABSN in case I don’t get into NYU.

I have a 3.4 prereq, 3.4 cumulative. Had all A’s and B’s except my one C in A&P2. Worked in a hospital for 9 months as a tech. Also did research for a year and a half in a lab on campus. Drexel is pretty good at looking at the applicant holistically!

I tried to contact the school of nursing, twice. I have a bunch of questions in regards to the exact start date, scholarships, and number of people admitted. I still haven't heard back. Will report back here when I do.
