NYU Accelerated Nursing Fall 2020

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi guys! Thought I'd make a forum for NYU's ABSN Program for fall 2020.

Let me introduce myself. My name is Alexis Paige. Currently in California. I received my BA in psych from a private university with a GPA below 3.0. Took pre-reqs in multiple community college while working. Ended up with the same GPA as undergrad ?

Here's my stats:

Anatomy: C (planning to retake in spring 2020)

Physio: A-

Microbio: C+ (planning to retake in spring 2020)

Chem for health sciences: C+

Nutrition: A

Stats: C

Lifespan dev: B

Volunteer experience at Stanford University. Do you think I have chance with NYU? I feel like my only hope in getting in are the letter of recs + personal essay.

Feel free to comment whatever is on your mind. What are your stats? Where are you from and what other schools will you be applying at? Help a sistah out!

just to clarify, there are different sections for the nursing program right? non-accelerated and accelerated as well as traditional four year students. how many students will they accept for each? or is 200 the total for all sections?

Hey guys, I sent in my application around the beginning of October! I already received my NYU ID and login information, but I heard they don't even send out acceptances until May or June.

I graduate this December with a degree in Human Biology. I have a 3.41 cumulative GPA currently. My pre-req grades are:

A&P1: B, A&P2: C, Micro: In progress but on track for a B, Nutrition: A, Statistics: A-, Developmental Psych: A, Gen Chem: B.

I also worked at a hospital as a Patient Care Associate for 8 months (500-600 hours), as well as I'm part of a pre-medical fraternity that gives me volunteer hours and community service. Funny how I don't want to be a physician anymore though.

I'm hoping to get into NYU as it's only 20-30 minutes from my house, but the tuition is scaring me.

thats awesome! yeah the tuition is super scary, 6 figures for a second degree is kind of daunting. i am kind of desperate at this point, bc i feel as if they are the only school that doesnt focus only on gpa. i wanted to apply to downstate, mt sinai, and bing but i figured no shot. i do think its tough how theres 200 people in a cohort but at this point idc.

I applied to Bing but I don't think I'll get in. I'm not really fond of the area either so it wouldn't be the worst to be rejected (sorry Bing). NYU is super holistic though so I feel like everyone has somewhat of an equal chance. I'm hoping the best for you!!

200 in each program right? like 200 for non-accelerated, 200 for accelerated and 200 for traditional freshman? or am i wrong?

@eliebs are you non-accel or accelerated?

I honestly don’t know, I assumed it was 200 each but that kind of sounds like a lot?

I’m accelerated!

I'm wondering if it's 200 each also. I think I'll call them tmrw or Monday to find out more info.

i don't know how to reply to people's post on here haha.

yes, please. let us know if it's 200 each section or 200 total.

Hey did anyone get any updates whether they're accepting 200 each section or 200 in total?

I did not, I thought someone else was contacting them hahah.

Hi everyone!

I was wondering if it would be too late to apply for the Fall 2020 cohort? I know the website says the priority deadline is March, but I'm not sure how many seats would still be available given the rolling admissions. Thanks for any help!

Usually people don’t hear back until May or June, so it wouldn’t be too late to apply.
