Hi guys! Thought I'd make a forum for NYU's ABSN Program for fall 2020.
Let me introduce myself. My name is Alexis Paige. Currently in California. I received my BA in psych from a private university with a GPA below 3.0. Took pre-reqs in multiple community college while working. Ended up with the same GPA as undergrad ?
Here's my stats:
Anatomy: C (planning to retake in spring 2020)
Physio: A-
Microbio: C+ (planning to retake in spring 2020)
Chem for health sciences: C+
Nutrition: A
Stats: C
Lifespan dev: B
Volunteer experience at Stanford University. Do you think I have chance with NYU? I feel like my only hope in getting in are the letter of recs + personal essay.
Feel free to comment whatever is on your mind. What are your stats? Where are you from and what other schools will you be applying at? Help a sistah out!
WOW!, I am getting really nervous now. I submitted by application on 3/1. I have all A's with the exception of stats I have a C. and Micro and Chem in progress. I guess everyone who submitted by the priority deadline is hearing back now??

WOW!, they moved very quickly this year. Last year I don't think anyone started receiving decisions until after April because of the April 1st deadline.
I'm a little bit nervous because someone from admissions reached out to me to inform me that my one of my listed pre-reqs would not suffice, and asked me if I could/would retake the class. I registered for another class, and the admissions approved it. However, I am unable to link this new class to a school because in order to do so you have to have a transcript in for that school. I do not have a transcript for it because this class is being taken at a complete new school; I mean I didn't expect to have to retake it. And now, due to current circumstances, NYU is not processing any transcripts at this time. Admissions has not gotten back to me about about alternate ways to link the class to the school.
Can someone help me figure this out?
I am anxious that if people are already receiving decisions that I don't stand a chance.
They said that you can send in an unofficial transcript on the portal, so if you have anything showing you're registered for that course, I'd just try to submit it there than try to follow up with them maybe? IDK, but I hope you get it figured out! Which class did they have a problem with, out of curiosity?

So I don’t know if you remember when you applied, you had to upload an unofficial transcript yourself and then have an official one sent in. Then once NYU received the official transcript, the school’s name popped up on the check list on the NYU portal. Then from there you attached the pre req to its proper school. I can’t attach my class because the school isn’t listed because I never sent an official transcript.
But anyways, I did like you suggested and uploaded proof of registration so maybe that will help?? I followed up with Admissions. Hoping he gets back to me soon. He has been very kind and helpful thus far.
The class was they inquired about was Dev Psychology. The Dev Psych class I took years ago was only birth through adolescence. NYU needed birth through adulthood. I mean it’s alright, because the class is easy enough.
Hoping they still give me a chance, but it not, there is always reapplication.
once my app is submitted on common app what do I get next? not sure because official transcripts were sent directly to nyu..
In a few days you'll get an NYU login to your checklist and you'll need to re-enter your pre-req information there (there will be a very obvious button to do that and also an email later) and make sure all of your transcripts are received!
