NYU Accelerated Nursing Fall 2020

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi guys! Thought I'd make a forum for NYU's ABSN Program for fall 2020.

Let me introduce myself. My name is Alexis Paige. Currently in California. I received my BA in psych from a private university with a GPA below 3.0. Took pre-reqs in multiple community college while working. Ended up with the same GPA as undergrad ?

Here's my stats:

Anatomy: C (planning to retake in spring 2020)

Physio: A-

Microbio: C+ (planning to retake in spring 2020)

Chem for health sciences: C+

Nutrition: A

Stats: C

Lifespan dev: B

Volunteer experience at Stanford University. Do you think I have chance with NYU? I feel like my only hope in getting in are the letter of recs + personal essay.

Feel free to comment whatever is on your mind. What are your stats? Where are you from and what other schools will you be applying at? Help a sistah out!

Hey Everyone!

My name is Lea! I’m currently a pre-nursing student in NYC and recently completed my app for the NYU Fall 2020 ABSN program!

My stats are as follows:

Anatomy/Physiology1: B

Anatomy/Physiology2: A

Chem 1: A-

Developmental Psych: A

Statistics: A

Currently taking Micro this semester and Nutrition next semester!

I work as a patient care representative at an urgent care in the NYC area and am gearing up to take on a shadowing opportunity of a doctor who works at a major NYC hospital.

A tidbit of interesting info...I studied opera in High School for 4 years and used to help teach yoga in Bryant park (all of which somehow led me to nursing lol) ??‍♀️

Any hoot, I have two rec letters, one from a professor who happens to teach at NYU and one from my manger at the urgent care center I work for.

My mom is also an alum of NYU Silver School and she spent a few years working at NYU Langone.

Crossing my fingers that I’m in some capacity what NYU is looking for, but I guess we’ll all find out soon!

Sending loads of good luck to everyone!!!! ??

Hey! Now seeing this cause i haven't been on this site in a year lol...

I'm kinda similar to your situation so I'm hoping for the best once I apply also. I'm a public health major now since transferring into nursing programs didn't work for me.

2.7 gpa

Anatomy 1&2: B-

Stata: C+

Chem: taking right now but currently have a b+

Dev Psych: A

Micro: taking in the summer

Idk my chances but I'm hoping that this semester and next will bump me up

hi! i feel your pain we are in the same boat. apparently they are holistic af here and take a lot of people! the tuition is 6 figs so im not surprised.

@someoneacceptme lol i’m down to pay tuition. i’ve been trying to get into a nursing program. last year i applied to one entry level masters program (bad idea. should’ve applied to more) and got waitlisted

i feel like paying tuition isn’t as bad bc we’ll earn it back once we start working.

wait how much is the total cost for the entire program?

I feel ya. I am 25 and this is my first year of applying to schools. originally wanted to do PA but didnt have all pre reqs. time is going lol. and i believe its above 100 k for sure. apparently nyu classes are huuuuuge. at this point i just want to get in. gonna start my app for the fall. saw deadline is in march

omg i'm 25 yrs old too. i was a bio major at first but my uni advisor screwed me over with my classes so i switched to psych.

ya going to apply for fall 2020 accelerated program.

hopefully we make it!

I'm from nyc but I live in pennsylvania now and go to school here. About an hour and 15minutes away from ny and I'm used to it so nyu wouldn't be a big transition for me. I just really love their program and the campus.

I've also heard that they look at applications hollistically. Apparently they take in like 200 students so that's good. That tuition tho!

lol i feel like advisors are seriously pointless. I started with bio and recently switched to public health so i can get tf out of this school and move on to my absn!!
