Hey all! I've learned tons over the past months reading the different threads here. I am getting ready to start my application for the NYU aBSN program for Spring 2011, so I thought I'd start a new thread for anyone else who may be applying. I will be graduating from the University of Florida in December with a degree in nutrition. I've always wanted to go to NYU, so getting into this program would be a dream come true.
I will be attending the open house on August 10th to get some more information, so I will definitely check back and post what I find out.
So is there anyone else out there that's in the same boat as me? I'd love to hear from yall!!
I am not sure how you guys are getting acceptance letters via email...I called the school this morning and they assured me that they are NOT telling anyone on the phone if they got into the program unless they have received a package from NYU and nor are they emailing people telling them that they were accepted into the program. They also told me that they are reviewing applications and will notify people until end of December regardless of the deadlines to register for clinical. The school also said not to go by what people are saying here in this forum...either way, I think its great for people who have already been accepted, best of luck to them. And the others like myself will have to wait and see our faith..
Well that is a relief...not sure why they would put all those deadlines before they finished accepting everyone...but I agree with allison I think they are waiting to get all the deposits from the people they accepted already and if not they are probably gonna review all the applications again to select more people...
Oh and purdue don't believe everything the school says they give lots of conflicting info because they told my friend that they were sending the decisions via email.
I think it's a good sign if you haven't heard anything yet! It means they are really looking over and over at your application and waiting to see how many people will ultimately accept the offer and pay the deposit.
I think if they wanted to reject you they would have done so already. My friend received her rejection email last week, so this means that if you haven't heard yet there is still a big chance you will get in!!
I hope I'm right...:-P
Kika
Thanks for the information guys...I really hope you are right and I do an admission..if I dont, then I will wait to hear from other schools. In the meantime I have started to look at other programs in healthcare or getting my masters in something. As it is, the situation in this country is not going to get any better and jobs have become scarce. Been unemployed for almost a year and things are not looking good...have to spend another 100k+ for another degree is outrageous...and NO job is guaranteed!! hope God has something good planned for all of us. God Bless this country...
Oh kika i really hope that you are right too...it must have been absolutely heart breaking for your friend though...i seriously have lost eight pounds during this application process.. it is really stressful and nerve wrecking.. filled with hope and at the same time it is disheartening at the thought of rejection.. years of preparation all come down to this moment.. BEST OF LUCK to the ones that are waiting like me... let's keep our fingers crossed, our hopes high, because we have come this far and we will keep progressing towards our ultimate goal regardless of what we might encounter along the way.. like my mother said, " at least you have all of your limbs and are in good health. This isn't the end of the world and should not discourage you from meeting your goals."
BEST OF LUCK TO US ALL : )
I know these days might seem eternal but we will find out sooner than we think
So I called up the undergrad admissions office yesterday they said that my application was complete and that I should be getting something in the mail within the next week. They wouldn't tell me over the phone what the decision was though :/. Has any of the other people who are still waiting for an answer heard anything?
