I just started my application for NYU's ABSN program for Fall 2010. I heard they might not even be accepting applications for fall yet, though, since the spring deadline was only about a week ago. Is anyone else applying here for fall? Also, does anyone know what their average GPA for accepted students is? Would it help to submit my GRE scores even though they don't require it? Sorry I know its a lot of questions but I'm already nervous for admissions
When you called, did they tell you when you would hear officially, like when they're sending letters out?
my stats weren't that great. i had a 3.4 gpa from an average state school. A and B for A&P, B- for Micro, A's for psych, stats and nutrition. I had alot of research experiences though, from well known institutions and a company, so that might have helped. Btw, I had no clue what the N number you guys were talking about, but I just tried activating my netid by putting in my SS# and dob, and bam I had a netid ready for me. When I asked the admissions counselor whether that was an early indication of the good news, she said probably but it's odd because usually students cant log on until they made their deposits.I also read on a different forum that people have had the netid pop up, but got rejected soon after. So even if you cant activate your netid, don't be so discouraged. I wish you guys good luck!!
Congrats!! :) Thanks for the encouraging words for all of us!

The person told me I should be getting my packet (which is the decision) in about 2 weeks or so. All i remember is the "2 weeks". it could've been after two weeks or within two weeks. i think the first batch of acceptance will go out in midst april, and depending on deposit status, they'll send out another in early may or so (from previous posts). I remember the wait felt like forever for me. I'm sure you guys will hear from them soon :)

i keep hearing different dates rolling around, so i'm a bit confused about that. on another site, i saw that regular transfer students would be notified mid-may. as far as the accelerated program, i've heard mid-april to early may and that it depends on when your application was complete. i called them to find out a specific date and all they would tell me was "shortly" (whatever that means) and i had my app complete in december. i'm thinking they were pretty busy when I called because it was april 1 (the day that freshman students would be notified, and the deadline day for transfer students) lol. So we'll see...

THANKS FOR THE INPUT. YOU KNOW I SENT IN MY APPLICATION WAY BEFORE THE PRORITY DEADLINE, and I called them today to see what's going on with my application and the admissions couselor told me they have not reviewed it yet. Can you believe that??? I should be receiving something by may 1st on a rolling basis. Do any of you guys know if they give first priority to accelerated applicants over traditional transfer students? BecAuse the councelor said my application can be put on hold depending on how many students accept their offer, and it's possible I won't know till July!!!
The waiting game is starting to get to me too and it has only just begun! It looks like they're trying to hedge their bets...sending out some acceptances, waiting to see who accepts/declines, and based on that information deciding who to accept next..win-win situation for the school, not so fun for the students who have to wait ;-) I haven't called them to see when I should hear but I'm assuming they must have at least looked at my ap since they sent me request for mid-term grades, right? Now I want to call but don't want to drive myself (or them) crazy!

I know it's so subjective...Maybe we *should* call 3 diff times :-P Did you see that someone appears to have been told over the phone that they were already accepted? Maybe I'll go down to the office with some cupcakes...see what kind of response I get...LOL! I tried to do that little nyu net id thing and it wouldn't let me do it :-(

aspiring nurse,
I applied back in october bc i initially wanted to start in the spring but decided to change the app to the fall. I actually live near long island area, so i would have been able to commute from home if i went to molloy or stony brook. NYU is the only school that would require me to move out but it's what i wanted to do anyway
