Hello everyone!
My name is Kaitlyn and I was recently accepted into NYU Meyers as a Second Degree (non-accelerated) student. I'll be finishing up my prerequisite courses at NYU this Fall 2019 and will then begin the ABSN curriculum with, hopefully, some of you all in the Spring 2020 cohort!
Just wanted to start a thread for everyone to communicate on as you all work on getting your applications in ?
Best of luck to you all!
Hi, I’ve been watching this topic for a little while now and I just wanted to share my story for those of you who have found yourself in the position to have to choose another school over waiting for a decision from NYU. I am a mom of two (who wants at least one more child and a career), I applied for Fall 2018 at NYU only and got a rejection two months later. Naturally, I was disappointed and convinced myself waiting a year to reapply was absolutely out of the question (at that point I had my son and wanted another baby because my son was getting older and the age gap was growing). Not to mention, I am actually just a transfer student, so prolonging the start of a nursing program would mean also making little to zero progress on any kind of bachelors degree at all. My age doesn’t help either as I’m just a couple of years shy of thirty and with all the social pressures of having it “together” by now, I feel like I’m doing less than enough. But I waited and reapplied nonetheless. If accepted, I plan to attend no matter what my financial aid package is. If not, I will finally take a hint (at least for my first bachelors, can’t speak for the second lol). I guess the point I’m trying to make is, if NYU is YOUR dream school and you can’t imagine that any other school will provide the platform and education that NYU will, why not stick it out. Sure the process seems unfair and almost a little inconsiderate, so much so that maybe their admissions process needs some work, I totally get that! But can you imagine how many students applied? Or that there is a possibility that their process is like this to give us all as fair of a chance as possible at attending? My question to you is, can you really put a timeline on YOUR DREAMS?! I’ll admit, my stomach sank a bit when I saw that my checklist was still there this morning, I’m there with you! I don’t want to offend anyone, just wanted to share. More than anything, I hope this helps anyone that’s feeling frustrated or confused about what to do. Happy Friday and stay positive!

This is beautiful, keep fighting everyone. God makes no mistakes. Dont give up, keep the hunger and the strive. Theres something out there for all of us.
They also usually dont update the status page till around 3 based on the information from previous cohorts.
I applied to several schools as well, but the only decision I care about is NYU's, it is literally my DREAM school to complete my ABSN at. I spoke to someone this morning, he said they have been sending rejections as well as acceptances starting 2 weeks ago, and he has seen decisions go on as late as beginning of Jan believe it or not. It's very nerve wrecking to wait this long, we all feel anxious and nervous but we will know soon hopefully. Hopefully all of us here back today!!! If some of us do not, its OKAY do not lose hope as they will be sending decisions almost up until the program starts which is a bit ridiculous but what can I say!
