  1. Oh nice! I should have done that instead haha oh well
  2. I went to school in Florida, but just moved and applied for a CO license straightaway since I knew I wanted to end up in CO. I believe you need a Colorado driver's license or some proof of residency in order to apply for a nursing license though (correct me if I'm wrong). The CO licensure process was very quick in my experience, less than a week from submitting my application until I got my Authorization to Test for NCLEX. I definitely agree with @ekh10293 about showing commitment and it's nice to have your NCLEX already done by interview time (but not required because scheduling and finding a test date can suck sometimes) I have friends that just got their compact license and are planning to transfer it to whatever state they end up moving to, which also seems like a good option if you were unsure which state but want to take NCLEX as soon as possible. You'd be fine either way ?
  3. @eliz32 Thank you and of course! I did my final semester preceptorship during my ABSN in a level 2 emergency department at another pediatric hospital (out of state), and I also did research working with preschool children with developmental delays during my first bachelor's. That's probably the most relevant experience I had, along with some unpaid hospital volunteering and being a Summer camp counselor. While I can't speak for the hiring manager(s) or anyone, I'd recommend focusing less on the specific jobs you had and more on what you learned from those roles or what attitudes/values/skills you demonstrated during the experience. Any customer service job or job working with kids (really any job or internship) can be valuable for experience and relevant life lessons. In my supplemental application, I really tried to convey the kind of person I am and how much/why I love nursing, pediatrics, and emergency dept. I think it's more important to show why you're passionate and what you value, and the supplemental really gives a space to show that. Of course they want skills and experience too, but it's a new grad position during COVID so they know we don't have years of nursing experience. Good luck with the rest of your ABSN and on your residency applications!!
  4. I got an offer for the Emergency Dept. in Colorado Springs! I'm so excited and can't wait to start!
  5. That’s awesome, I’m glad they both went well for you! Thanks so much for the info and good luck on the 16th to you too!
  6. How'd the interviews go for you guys? :) Did they say anything about when you might get an offer or if there are any other steps in the selection process?
  7. I read that about the written test too on the older thread. I've heard of other residency interviews including a verbal prioritization question or something to get at our clinical judgement. My interview's on the 16th for CO Springs ED, and I'm gonna prep for a question like that just in case. I agree (and hope) that it probably won't be written though. Good luck to you both!!
  8. It just said Children's Colorado and was from the recruiting department, so I just assumed it was both since I applied for both.
  9. Got a reference check email today, I hope that's a good sign!
  10. Hi ? I applied to both locations too. Good luck to you both! Aw, I hope that isn't the case for our cohort. Hopefully we hear back soon!
  11. Hey, congratulations on getting into this program! I hope it's going well for you both! I'm thinking of applying also, but for next year after I graduate. Can I ask what kind of things were on the written exam during the interview? Was it NCLEX-style nursing care or more ethics/decision questions? Just wondering, thanks!
  12. My checklist disappeared!!
  13. I just accepted my admission, and I’m so excited to meet you all at Orientation! @Cassie238 thanks for making the Facebook group!
