NYU ABSN Spring 2020

Hello everyone!

My name is Kaitlyn and I was recently accepted into NYU Meyers as a Second Degree (non-accelerated) student. I'll be finishing up my prerequisite courses at NYU this Fall 2019 and will then begin the ABSN curriculum with, hopefully, some of you all in the Spring 2020 cohort!

Just wanted to start a thread for everyone to communicate on as you all work on getting your applications in ?

This is so sad my checklist is completed and I did early acceptance and I have not heard anything from them. At this point I think I am going to claim my seat at another school because this is ridiculous.

I know! I’m on the same boat with the priority registration! It’s a lie! There’s no way I can wait that long, other schools want us to sign up now because classes fill quick and we need to start our registration processes! I feel sorry for those that are truly relying on this school because this application process isn’t right!

Exactly!! We were suppose to hear from them a long time ago and at this point I don't care just because we made sure we sent our applications in early to ensure a better chance at getting in but clearly thats not the case with NYU.

I'm in the same boat. Got in for priority, only to realize in Oct something was missing on my checklist from HS. I am accepted to two Boston schools which need to be paid in Dec. I already put down $1000 each because they came in at different times more than 10 days apart. I was really hoping for NYU or SBU but I called and SBU said January decisions and NYU said up until then. If I don't hear this Friday, I'm probably just going to move on because loan applications need to be submitted and registration paperwork needs to be done, and I have to look for housing etc. If I did NYU or SBU I would have commuted which would have made my life easier and less expensive.

well , sad thing is although my everything in my application is good but i still didnt receive acceptance letter on the first batch.

some in nj one in stony brook, one is fall term entry

nyu is the best choice ive got. so i really hope to get in

I did. And drexel university too...got accepted to both. At this point I really don't care about NYU's decision anymore. Drexel NCLEX pass rate is higher than NYU's and is half the tuition and half the time. Mercy's program is new but being that I'm not new to Mercy, I think it's better to continue there.

may i know your sta, because i heard that mercy is pretty competitive as well, they only accept 32 students per cohort.

That 32 is just for the Spring semester, that's why it's so competitive (GPA of at least 3.5). For the Fall semester you can get in with less than 3.0...they are looking into a summer cohort too.

As for my stats, I have an overall GPA of 3.8 and for my prerequisites I have one B and the rest is all A's.

Tomorrow is the big day for most of us! If we don't hear back I'm assuming most of us will claim our seat elsewhere. I think it goes out around 3pm, and our checklists will disappear tomorrow if we'll be receiving an answer. Let's pray and see what happens! I'll let you guys know what happens on my end.
