NYU ABSN Spring 2020

Hello everyone!

My name is Kaitlyn and I was recently accepted into NYU Meyers as a Second Degree (non-accelerated) student. I'll be finishing up my prerequisite courses at NYU this Fall 2019 and will then begin the ABSN curriculum with, hopefully, some of you all in the Spring 2020 cohort!

Just wanted to start a thread for everyone to communicate on as you all work on getting your applications in ?

From the past 2019 Spring cohort seems like Nov 8th should be the next batch of acceptances

I had a 3.7 GPA overall in undergrad. I also have a masters in social work from NYU. My GPA there was also 3.7. I've taken half the prereqs and my GPA is like a 3.9 in those. I've worked as a social worker for 4 years with various issues including substance abuse, but no prior medical training.

I am very anxious to hear back. I don't know why they don't just send all of the decisions together instead of different dates.

I feel the same way but since NYU accepts a large number of people per cohort, they need to accept people in batches and give people a deadline of 2 weeks to accept or decline so when some people decline they can go ahead and accept more as I was told from NYU faculty member.

Yes, I can confirm that you have 2 weeks to accept or decline your acceptance from when you are notified.

From research and speaking to NYU faculty, the next batch should go out next Friday in the late afternoon around 3-5PM.

Your going to get in and its going to be fine. Dont drive yourself crazy or throw that negative vibe out there. Its hard i know, i was driving myself nuts as well but guess what whatevers meant to be will be its already done. As far as whats next try to have some back up plans whatever you do just dont give up. Check out some other schools in new york Downstate, lehman college, Stony, Pace. Hell even if you have to go back to a 2 year and do it so be it. Just dont lose faith, dont give up till the fat lady sings and if she sings try again.

You are so right!! I have been so anxious and only about NYU’s decision since I applied to a few others but at the end of the day there are many routes to get to where you want so if the first one fails try another until you make it!! But yes, don’t lose faith and hope the admissions dpt at NYU told me they will be sending out emails until the end of December believe it or not!
