NYU ABSN FAll 2021

Published

Hey, this is super duper early but I figured we could get some questions, fears, or concerns talked through until March 1, 2021, for priority or April 1, 2021, for the regular decision to NYU's ABSN 15 month program for non-nurses. Please don't be afraid, Please share stats if you are comfortable doing so. It really does help cohorts after us figure out strengths and weaknesses to be better applicants. Hey, after all, It's all about helping each other out at the end of the day, right! Don't be shy, talk about where you're from and things you may be worried about for the application process. As well as other schools you might be applying for!

I called last week and they told me we would hear back as soon as April. But, as other ppl have said, previous years have heard back as soon as late March. So, just be on the lookout. I've been checking to see if my checklist changes daily LOL

Did they say when in April?

I think they said April 1st or around that date

What happens to our checklist?

It usually disappears once they make a decision or when they are reviewing your application

Hi all -

Jumping in for the updates. I was waitlisted for the Spring 2021 and a space didn’t become available so I decided to re-apply.

I’m a returning adult student so my undergrad is practically irrelevant at this point since I had to take every pre-req. I have worked in wellness for 5 years and currently work as a PCA in ED at a hospital in the city.

Stat - A

Micro - A in progress

A&P I - A

A&P II - A in progress

Nutrition - A

Psych - A

Chem - taking over Summer

Good luck to all and hopefully we hear quickly!

Do the applicants that apply later have less of a chance getting in? I know for those that applied priority they do, but if you applied early March vs late March?

Usually that’s what priority means for other schools but when I attended an info session they said that they do not view applications in any particular order so for NYU I don’t really think the priority deadline matters

I would honestly look at it as like march madness tournament, like they probably weed out people as they get more applications. Or maybe view the process like its American Idol or The voice LOL. It's really impossible to say though what the process is, no one knows unless you're in admissions. Good luck everyone, don't let your head spin into impossible scenarios!
