NYU ABSN FAll 2021

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey, this is super duper early but I figured we could get some questions, fears, or concerns talked through until March 1, 2021, for priority or April 1, 2021, for the regular decision to NYU's ABSN 15 month program for non-nurses. Please don't be afraid, Please share stats if you are comfortable doing so. It really does help cohorts after us figure out strengths and weaknesses to be better applicants. Hey, after all, It's all about helping each other out at the end of the day, right! Don't be shy, talk about where you're from and things you may be worried about for the application process. As well as other schools you might be applying for!

Hi! I just graduated from college this past May and I am planning on applying to NYU for Fall 2021. I am very nervous about the whole application process, but overall excited!

OMG !! That does sound very exciting!

If you really wouldn't mind sharing What are you're stats for your application? Grades earned in prereq, overall GPA, or cum GPA. Anything you feel comfortable sharing honestly

Did you have any retakes, outstanding prereqs, or perhaps anything that you needed to explain that was due to the COVID mishap?

What other programs did you apply to? Any others in NY?

Have you started working on your application!

Hey Everyone!

I'm graduating in May of 2021 with a degree in Marketing and I'm applying for the Fall 2021 semester. My boyfriend is currently a 4th sequence ABSN student at NYU and he'd going to be done in December. From his stats and his friend's stats that got in they really do look at everything holistically. He has a friend who had absolutely 0% healthcare experience and had never even set foot in a hospital. Also, his friend's prereq GPA's and cumulative GPA's weren't too high either, they were between a 3.2-3.5. He, however, had tons and tons of shadowing experience and he also had a very high cumulative GPA (3.8 I think) and his prereq GPA was around 3.7.

I'm kind of nervous because I don't have any medical experience (because I decided I wanted to pursue nursing senior year of college). My Stats are as follows so far:

Cumulative GPA: 3.4

Statistics: Winter 2020

Developmental Psychology: A

Nutrition: A-

Chemistry w/ Lab: B+

Anatomy and Physiology 1: (Currently taking) (Hopefully an A or A-)

Anatomy and Physiology 2: (Spring 2021)

Microbiology: (Spring 2021)

Is it normal to be nervous and stressed already for this application LOL? I just enjoy how the school looks at your application as a whole and they accept a decent amount of students a semester in comparison to other schools. My boyfriend's class size for his particular sequence of students is 215, which is great because it makes it a bit less competitive.

Hi all! I’m graduating with my masters in May 2021 and looking to start NYU’s ABSN program that fall. I’m been working as an ABA therapist for children with ASD and will become a board certified masters-level clinician. I am also working on my thesis for pill swallowing/medication compliance that will be submitted for research publication. My past experience includes working as a medical assistant in a pediatric practice for a little over a year. Though my masters GPA is a 3.9 I am worried about my prerequisite GPA (3.18). My course grades are the following:
AP1   B-

AP2   B-

Chem  A-

Microbio C+

Stats    B+

Psych    A

Nutrition  A

Good luck everyone!

hey y'all!

I graduated in may as well but my undergraduate GPA wasn't too great. it was at a 3.2 when I graduated. my degree was filled with hard sciences but I didn't do amazing in all the sciences, particularly the chem classes. I currently work closely with doctors and PAs in a clinical capacity and do have a publication under my belt, but I have a semester on my transcript in which I have a few Cs, an F, and a W. I did attach an addendum to explain and I was able to graduate with above a 3.0 but it still doesn't look too great. I hope I'm able to get in -- and hope anyone that has any good news about how ~~ holistic ~~ nyu is can post in here !!

my prereq classes so far are

A&P 1, 2, lifespan dev, nutrition: A

chem: C

microbio: B+

stats: B
