NYU ABSN FAll 2021

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey, this is super duper early but I figured we could get some questions, fears, or concerns talked through until March 1, 2021, for priority or April 1, 2021, for the regular decision to NYU's ABSN 15 month program for non-nurses. Please don't be afraid, Please share stats if you are comfortable doing so. It really does help cohorts after us figure out strengths and weaknesses to be better applicants. Hey, after all, It's all about helping each other out at the end of the day, right! Don't be shy, talk about where you're from and things you may be worried about for the application process. As well as other schools you might be applying for!

Hey everyone! If anyone has started their application - Was there an option to apply to the priority deadline on the Common Application? I only saw the final deadline option (April 1). So I am assuming we just need to apply by March 1? Thanks in advance.

Deadlines

Fall Entry:

Priority - March 1
Final - April 1

Spring Entry:

Priority - September 15
Final - October 15

Hi autumn, thank you for those dates! but that wasn't quite the answer I was looking for haha ?. Have you started your application? If so, was there an option where you could apply to a march 1 priority deadline? I only see a selection for April 1. (Maybe I am not wording my question properly LOL).

In previous years, it looked like people who applied before the priority deadline was still hearing back from the school with people who applied by April. I don't remember seeing a priority button and I submitted already.

Does anyone know if they accept science pre reqs from portage learning?

Does anyone know if we need to submit our transcript via Common App, or by mail, or both?

Hey there, I was wondering the same as NYU’s website is a bit confusing. I sent them an email but have not gotten a response. I also don't see a dropbox to submit my essay on the common app, which is making me think that we do need to send to NYU.

I keep on getting second thoughts about the process. I am not sure if I am competitive enough. I have all my prerequisites as:

A & P 1: C

A & P 2: C+

Stat: B

Nutrition: B+

Chem: B

Micro: B-

I have Developmental Psych 1: A

I need to do Developmental Psych 2:

I graduated this past Fall from Hunter College with a Bachelors in Public Health.

I don't have any volunteer work or medical experience other than working as a nanny for 10 years, with infants and a child with ADHD and Dyslexia. But I am a mother of a year old which was my top priority for many years. And I really really want this, I feel like I belong in this program. I live right next door to the hospital.

Anyhow, wishing everyone the very best.

Thanks for your response. Can you let me know if they get back to you? Also, I heard they are super holistic, your experience is unique nonetheless, and your pre-req grades aren't bad. I assume they receive a lot of applications from people who have 4.0's and tons of clinical experience, I think they like to see unique applications. Either way, they always say to just go for things even if you feel under-qualified, you never know what might happen.

Hi!

For the essay, I do remember being able to fill it out via the common app. I didn’t upload it though, it was more of a copy and paste deal directly into a text box!

Does anyone know if we have to submit our official transcript via the common app or mail it to them?

I just went to my schools transcript services and they sent them to Common App. There was already an address listed for them on the website. It ended up working since it says that NYU received them.

I mailed mine! I think you can do either!

When I try to mail it to them through my school, it goes directly to sending them a pdf and says mailing is not an option
