NYU ABSN FAll 2021

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey, this is super duper early but I figured we could get some questions, fears, or concerns talked through until March 1, 2021, for priority or April 1, 2021, for the regular decision to NYU's ABSN 15 month program for non-nurses. Please don't be afraid, Please share stats if you are comfortable doing so. It really does help cohorts after us figure out strengths and weaknesses to be better applicants. Hey, after all, It's all about helping each other out at the end of the day, right! Don't be shy, talk about where you're from and things you may be worried about for the application process. As well as other schools you might be applying for!

Hey, quick question guys. When turning in your applications how many letter of recommendations did you guys include? One or two? In the pre reqs list they say two but in the application list they make it seem as one. Any answers help, thanks ?

Hii! I was able to put in 3. One professional, 2 academic.

You should try calling them about any information! I always call them directly, they are super responsive and really nice.

Thank you so much!

hi guys. I’m also applying for nyu ABSN. this is actually my third time applying. tbh it’s so hard to get into a program bc my GPA is 2.65 and schools look at our undergraduate cumulative GPA

How were your pre-req grades when you applied?

Did you guys fill out the experiences section in the common app? I feel like I do not need to because we need to put the resume but unsure

I filled everything out

Hey Guys,

I am applying to NYU through Common App and it asks for a few things that I am confused about. In the GPA entries, they are asking for total credit hours and Quality points. Is it the same as the total credits we have on our transcript?

Also since I will be graduating in May 2021, and I am taking one last prereq (Microbio) course, so Can I just submit my unofficial transcript for now and then later when I get my grades for this semester, can I send my official transcript then?

And also if you all don’t mind, Can you share your thoughts on the cost and financial aid for students in this NYU ABSN program?

Hi,

For total credit hours, I put the amount of credits I have in total. If this isn’t correct, can someone let us know LOL

also I’m a taking a prereq as well. I’m currently taking nutrition but I still submitted my official transcripts anyway. you can list that your microbio course is in progress on common app and on the nyu applicant portal. I think towards the middle of the semester, they are going to ask how our class is going and ask to see our midterm grade for the class. Or, that’s what I’ve seen happen in previous years threads. You can also email the admissions office to confirm what you should do as well. They email back fast.

As for the cost, I think the total program is 99k. They do give out fin aid packages but I’m not exactly sure what we are going to get considering this will be our second bachelors degree. Plus, it also depends on our own individual incomes. I hope they give out scholarships. When I applied to FAFSA, I was basically only granted loans LOL

Thank you so much.

In regard to transcript, actually I am e-permitting microbio because my college doesnot provide 4 credit and doesnot have a lab so, in my home college transcript it doesnot show up until the host college give me a grade so do you have any idea how can I let them know that I am taking the course right now?

Also If you don't mind, can you share the link of the NYU portal. I am so new to this and I am really confused.

https://shibboleth.nyu.edu/idp/profile/SAML2/Redirect/SSO?execution=e1s1 I sign in through here. Once you submit your application, you use the username they give you and set your own password. There’s a box there that says “Update Prerequisites”. Also on the common app, when I was filling in my grades for the transcript entry, I just listed the class I was taking and left the grade box empty to let them know it’s in progress.

This is what it looks like on my common app.

Thankyou ?

Very sorry to ask so many questions.

Actually just wondering

It says that I can apply only once each year. So if I apply this year (BY March 2021) for the Fall 2021 semester and fail to get in, Can I re-apply again in September or October 2021 for Spring 2022 or Do I have to wait all the way until March 2022 to apply for Fall 2022??

https://www.nyu.edu/admissions/undergraduate-admissions/how-to-apply/more-applicant-types-and-programs/second-bachelors-degrees.html It mentions you can only do one application per term. And by term, I think they mean Spring or fall. So you can only apply to one program for the fall or Spring term. So, if anything were to happen this term(for fall), you should be able to apply for the next term (Spring 2022). They have information sessions that they offer thru zoom. I signed up for one a couple of weeks ago. I’ll let you guys know what they mention
