NYU ABSN FAll 2021

Published

Hey, this is super duper early but I figured we could get some questions, fears, or concerns talked through until March 1, 2021, for priority or April 1, 2021, for the regular decision to NYU's ABSN 15 month program for non-nurses. Please don't be afraid, Please share stats if you are comfortable doing so. It really does help cohorts after us figure out strengths and weaknesses to be better applicants. Hey, after all, It's all about helping each other out at the end of the day, right! Don't be shy, talk about where you're from and things you may be worried about for the application process. As well as other schools you might be applying for!

From previous threads I noticed that the earliest they found out was the last week of March. So hopefully soon enough. Always on Friday’s

I saw in the other threads, people who got notified on other days, it ended up being quite random.

I sent a few of my transcripts directly to NYU instead of the Common Application because a representative from Meyers told me either was fine. However, now the Common Application is stating they won't mark my application as complete until they receive transcripts on their end. Because of this, I haven't received my NYU ID yet because NYU doesn't have a file for me yet. Has this happened to anyone else? Thank you in advance.

Not sure why but in my case Common Ap continued to show transcripts missing however I received my ID and the checklist show they received them already. Since I submitted mine I only contact NYU directly.

Hey there, I spoke to someone at NYU- they said they cannot update the Common app transcript status. So it will always remain that transcripts are marked as "not received". I ordered mine via common app which just redirects to the servicing sites or directly to your college's website. They have a flaw in my opinion with the way that section is processed but I digress LOL.

My common app therefore said "not received" when I submitted my application to NYU, and continues to say that. I have my NYU ID/login and in their site they have it marked as received, and thats all that matters.

A couple of questions-

Did you submit your common app application to NYU?

If yes- Did you get the email from NYU that says "Application Acknowledgement" in the subject line?

I did submit it to NYU but I did not get that email stating "Application Acknowledgement" .. Hmm..

Thank you for your responses. So, did you guys have to pay twice to send your transcripts in? I'm not sure why I didn't receive my NYU ID yet then.

I think you should call the school again and let them know that you still haven’t received your ID #. Because it’s really important that you see for yourself that the checklist on the applicant portal website is complete. That way, you can get a timely decision and not wait longer because of a complication that wasn’t your fault

Hi y'all! I just applied to NYU's ABSN, and I wanted to say hello to everybody and drop some stats to help us all compare and get to know each other while we anxiously await our decisions ?

I applied this week and have 2 pre-reqs still in progress. About me: I'm 31 and hoping to change careers into the nursing field. I've got volunteer experience in a hospital and am in school right now having just completed microbio and anatomy/physiology 1. My previous bachelor's is in Anthropology, and I'm currently a customer service manager at my company in Manhattan where I've been for about 6 years now.

My stats are:

science GPA: 4.0

pre-req GPA: 3.6

overall GPA: 3.13 (blah, stupid undergrad years)

I am crossing my fingers I get into NYU or Downstate for their ABSN program here in NYC, as these are the two I've applied to that fit me best and were in my area. I do know NYU would be a wonderful place to get my degree to work in the city when I graduate. Anyway, good luck to all of you, and can't wait to hear back!

No I didn’t pay twice. I just did it through common app and nyu received all of mine electronically. One of them I did have to call them to follow up on because it wasnt showing up in my nyu checklist. Two out of the three of my transcripts were free as electronic fyi.

Did you send yours by mail? If so you may want to send electronically. My advice here is really pertaining to electronic transcripts since mail probably takes a lot longer...

Give them a call or email (you will get an auto reply at first fyi)..., It could be that they wait  to make updates, but so far they’ve been helpful when I’ve called or emailed (takes a day or 2 for email response).

I sent my transcripts directly to NYU because it said so on their website. I didn’t send to common app. I confirmed through email that they received it before I submitted my app, and it also reflects now in my applicant portal after submitting.

So far, they have not reached out to me with any problems. I think so long as NYU has it, it doesn’t matter if common app does.

I sent my unofficial transcripts through commonapp. when I finally got my ID number and saw my checklist I saw that they needed my official transcripts so I ended up sending it to them directly and it all updated that day.

Does anyone know when we’ll start hearing back if we applied by the priority deadline?

I called last week and they told me we would hear back as soon as April. But, as other ppl have said, previous years have heard back as soon as late March. So, just be on the lookout. I've been checking to see if my checklist changes daily LOL
