Anyone planning to apply to NYU ABSN program for fall 2015. Since I'm in CA, there's no way I could attend the information session. What important things were mentioned at the information session?
Hey every one who may still be waiting for NYUs decision.
Good luck tomorrow! Just know that whatever the results are, it does not define as you a student, or an individual, and more importantly not your dedication to become a great nurse.
Hoping for the best, and preparing for the worst. May the 4th be with us :):):).
Just to give some feedback to those who are still waiting to hear back, I received my acceptance three weeks ago (EARLY thursday morning), and nearly had a heart attack to say the least haha. NYU has been my #1 choice from day one, but was a bit discouraged when comparing my GPA to others. I am currently finishing my undergrad at a very competitive liberal arts school, and will be finishing with ~3.4 cumulative and a little less than that for prerequisites. I think what truly helped me was my essay, and previous Nursing experiences. I shadowed a few nurses over the past two summers, and based much of my essay off of that. I hope this helps!!!
Wait what do you mean they had nothing to offer you? Did you apply for the FAFSA? I was accepted on the 30th, and they said I would receive my package in 5-7 days, so I'm still waiting to hear from them. How could the scholarship deadlines be due before the program? What would be the point in applying for a scholarship without acceptance to the program? Sorry for so many questions, I'm just confused! Are you definitely going to NYU or still waiting to hear from other schools?
Hi everyone! I received my acceptance email at 7:45 this morning and couldn't be happier! For others who are wondering about my background, I am currently a senior at Boston College studying sociology. My overall GPA is 3.7, major GPA is a 3.85 and my prereq GPA is around a 3.75 (I have two more prereqs to take over the summer). I have been a volunteer at a local nursing home for the past six months, a Resident Assistant for freshmen students, a volunteer at a domestic violence unit at a nearby courthouse, and highly involved with the student admissions organization throughout my time at BC. I have my A&P II final in a few hours and this seriously couldn't have been a better time to find out I was accepted to NYU! Congratulations to everyone who has been accepted thus far and good luck to everyone still waiting!!!
