Anyone planning to apply to NYU ABSN program for fall 2015. Since I'm in CA, there's no way I could attend the information session. What important things were mentioned at the information session?
So I looked on passed forums….
About 1,000-2,000 students apply for 150- less than 200 spots. a lot of people decline so that's a good thing.
and it seems like a recurring trend if you didn't really hear by the 20th of April you may possibly here the first two weeks of may since the people who were accepted the first week or two had some time to decline the offer (around the end of April).
Supposedly the most acceptances come out the first two weeks of April & (..especially in) May and then afterwards the last two weeks are for any open spots for people who declined.
It seems to be like May 1-14th a lot of people find out as well as April 1-14th..
So they give out acceptances to people they want the most/rejection from people they didn't want at all in April —> wait list in May and rejections —> June mainly rejection letters and a few acceptances and waitlists , to people who changed their mind during May.
Some girl asked NYU and she said another reason why you may not hear yet is because either didn't read your application or they are waiting to see how many people declined.
It also seems that after the first two weeks of June people are put on the wait list.
Mhm.. But wouldnt they already go through the early decision people? I applied for march 1st deadline and didnt hear anything yet. I have a 3.33 overall gpa and for the pre reqs i mostly have A- and B+ (a C+ in stats). I think my essay was good. Also shadowed a nurse and a physician in the past have recommendation letter from a RN. And currently work with children in a day care where we organize events for charity raised 2k last year for kids with cancer. All was mentioned in my application. At this point i have stopped checking my email like a psycho and let it be. I wish all of us could get in í ½í¹ we all seem very passionte for nyu.
kmichelle you said you're a transfer not an ABSN student so you misunderstood what I said before what I said ONLY applies to the accelerated students. Last semester I applied as a 2nd degree non-accelerated student because I needed micro and nutrition. That being said there are easily 30-40 other students that did the same. They too are starting this fall. Because the number of non-accelerated students increased we are filling spots in the fall 2015 cohort, thus limiting the number of spots for new ABSN admissions. Does this clarify things? Sorry if my other post was confusing or didn't come out right. That being said I hope you all get in!!! Keep your heads up, if it doesn't work out for you this semester apply for next semester. Don't let your dreams of becoming a nurse end here!
i was accepted this morning at 6:45am!!! I am so beyond excited I couldnt even speak this morning! goodluck to everyone still waiting, no news is good news! I know this has been asked but I cannot find it in the thread, for those accepted, are we regular decision admissions or transfer admissions when we accept our admissions?

Yeah after getting my acceptance I checked my status on Albert and in the corner there is a button for decision and when you click on it, it tells you to accept or decline your admission. But when I checked yesterday I didn't see it, maybe I missed it because I wasn't sure what I was looking for.
