Hey does anyone have advice on the NYP Pharm exam? I know theres a document floating around out there somewhere. If anyone has it and can message me I would be very grateful

Don't give up!
I have no idea what they look for. I have 5 years acute care experience, I will finish my BSN in 3 months. A recruiter called me the other day saying they were interested. When they asked about my BSN I told them I'll be finished in 3 months. Then she said she would save my information and told me to apply again when I get my BSN. I almost wanted to say, "Did you even read my resume? Why even call me and get me all excited?" At least they showed interest in my experience! But it was like a tease.
Hey Puppylove992! It was multitudes easier than the NCLEX Pharm questions. The questions were incredibly straight forward and asked things that any RN, LPN, or Nursing Student should know. I strongly suggest you go read over the Quizlet flashcards that other people created. Search for NYP Pharm Exam and a tons would pop up.
It was 50 questions with a 60 min time limit, but you prob would finish before 30 min.
Other than that, seriously, DO NOT SWEAT IT.
Thanks for your help. Ive been looking at the quizlet flashcards hoping it would be very similar and once again thanks for your response. Another question if you don't mind me asking. When did they verify your degree? They haven't asked me to bring in anything just my license and I was just curious. Also have you started orientation as yet?
Puppylove992 said:Okay the only thing I gave them was my BLS and RN license, I guess so. I start my orientation on November 7. The exam went awesome I did extremely well. You're right I was worrying way too much and it wasn't bad at all.
Hi, CONGRATS! What unit/campus will you be at? Also, what did you use to study?
Hi Thank you :) , I really don't want to post unit/campus because I would like to remain anonymous on this website. But I will be working in the adult population. I used a study guide that someone posted in one of the forums I can't remember and also Quizlet NYP pharm exam helps a lot, study that!!! Are you taking the pharmacology exam as well?

No problem! I'm being considered for opportunities at the moment. Not sure if I'd be able to make it to the 11/7 orientation since it's somewhat around the corner, but if given the chance to take the pharm exam soon I'd like to be prepared if there's a quick turnaround. Though it looks like there are two orientations per month? Pretty sure there was one early October then another poster said they're in the 10/31 orientation. Hoping I can start next month! CONGRATS again!

Hey Guys,
I got a 98 on my exam when I took it to get into NYP last year (2015) and thought I'd share this with a few of you, but promise while reading this that you actually UNDERSTAND and not just memorize this.... but I remember how afraid I was so here are the notes I took before taking the exam. also the medications in particular I wrote A LOT but only paid attention to the most important things with each of those medications (ex: Heparin/bleeding, Analgesics/respiratory depression etc etc) Hope this helps people!
