Hey does anyone have advice on the NYP Pharm exam? I know theres a document floating around out there somewhere. If anyone has it and can message me I would be very grateful
Hey everyone, I recently took the basic medication exam (administered now by RN.com) at the Cornell campus and passed with a 94%. It was not as bad as I imagined. I finished within 30 mins. They give you a study guide of medications, procedures, lab values and calculations you need to know. I made a review sheet from the study guide and studied sporadically for about a week. Good luck to those who have yet to take it. Relax and you'll do fine!
I took the basic med exam last week and passed with a 94%. It really is not that bad. I studied for about a week using Lehne's Pharmacology for Nursing as my main resource. I also used an old NCLEX book to brush up on med administration procedures. If you study the basics of what the drug is used for, side effects and nusring indications you will be fine! There were no surprises on the test- nothing came up that wasn't on the study guide. Good luck!!
I just took it today at the Columbia campus and just passed it too. NYP will give you the study guide after they give you your offer letter. It is pretty good at covering what you need to know for the exam. It isn't that bad but it is a lot harder than Pharm exams at other hospitals. Study the study guide and you will be fine.
