The study guide that i was given at NYP Columbia was on the onboarding portal. The test i took at nyp columbia was no longer from the nln website it is from rn.com now. rn.com has some pharm learning modules. I suggest to do the heparin module.

Hi Njrn92. My interview went well. I did get the job and have been working for a month now. I do like working at the Allen. Since Its much smaller than Millstein the Allen has a family atmosphere feel to it. If you have any other ques don't hesitate to ask. Hope you hear some good news soon. Good luck!

Around 25 i think in orientation and 2 (igueva and i) at BI. Most people were placed in the other hospitals

Hi Bonchristy, I actually never went through with white glove staffing since i was finally able to land a hospital job not through an agency. My advice to you is that if you don't feel safe practicing anywhere try to consider other options. It could take several months to land an offer but just don't get discouraged. However, white glove staffing is a pretty well known agency and could be a great experience especially in the difficult job market. Don't let the salary and scheduling sway you too much as a new grad because the ultimate goal is to get that 1 year experience. Best of luck to you :)

I got into the Ortho unit at Mt. Sinai Beth Israel. I don't really know what made me stand out among others but i was told by the manager that she chose me because she liked my previous hospital experience on my resume.

Hi CheerfulRN, I have also been accepted along with Igueva, however, i accepted a job offer with a different hospital outside of the RN-TTP program instead. As a new grad it was very difficult to find a nursing job especially in the saturated NYC market. It is definitely worth completing the program since the opportunities out there are scarce. The program allows you to add RN experience to your resume while having a very high chance of receiving a job offer in the end. If you are accepted into the program and find your self with a job offer somewhere else before the program ends, the program is really good with accommodating you and your goals. They only ask for a 15 day withdrawal notice. So my suggestion to you is to apply to the program that way you have a back up plan while also applying to other jobs you desire.

I just took it today at the Columbia campus and just passed it too. NYP will give you the study guide after they give you your offer letter. It is pretty good at covering what you need to know for the exam. It isn't that bad but it is a lot harder than Pharm exams at other hospitals. Study the study guide and you will be fine.

As another new grad I understand how you feel and I've felt that way after an interview too. For now Just hope for the best and stay positive. You never know maybe they see something in you. If anything see it as a learning experience. Now you know the types of questions asked and how they tested your reaction under stress, so next time you will be more confident and will shine brighter. Hi Kdacayo, Thanks for replying. Yes I'm a new grad. NYP and the whole nyc market is just really hard to get into. So stay strong and hopeful. I've been applying like crazy too and I'm really praying this will turn out well . I got the interview because of an internal connection and trying really hard to contact all the unit managers directly.

Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone can share their experience with me and any tips about their interview at New York Presbyterian. I tried searching the forumns but i can't find anything concrete. If you do know of a thread here that covers the topic please link me. I have an interview coming up with NYP. The interview is for the Allen Hospital but i have to meet with the talent acquisition team at Columbia first then commute to meet with the unit manager and panel of staff at the Allen Hospital . I want to make sure i prepare as much as I can for this interview so if you know of any questions they ask you and about when did you take the pharm exam please let me know. Hi everyone. I am a new grad bsn nurse looking for a job. I spoke to my cousin who works for lincoln hospital who spoke to her manager. The manager told her to tell me to apply to white glove staffing since they will be hiring through the agency and once I apply i will get an interview with her. I would like to know what someone's experiences have been with white glove staffing. What is their orientation process like for new grads? What is the pay like? Etc. I keep getting mixed reviews online. Thanks in advance everyone. :)

I am a long time looker but a new registered member of the forumns so i'd first like to start off by saying hi to everyone... Hi :) So heres my story... I graduated may 2015 with my BSN and passed my NCLEX 1st try on July 2nd. My resume was forwarded to the nurse recruiter at Montefiore Medical Center (NY) through my aunt who works at the MOSES campus. Later that day i get a call from HR to schedule an interview for their interview event. I interviewed on August 13 at their Wakefield campus. The day after i sent out thank you letters. Now its been a month since. My question is: How long does it usually take to hear a response from HR if i got a job or not? I asked my aunt who works there and she said it could take months. It took my brother 2months till he heard back from them if he was hired. I would really love to work at Montefiore but the wait to hear back is so long. Ive also heard of people getting job offers the day of the interview. Its been a month now and i still haven't heard back from Montefiore. I have an interview this coming monday september 14 at a long term care pediatric facility. My resume was forwaded to HR thru a current employee. I love working with peds and i even have 4+ years working as a nurse tech on a pediatric unit at wp hospital,however, working at a LTC facility is really different from working at a hospital. I really would love to work at Montefiore especially since a lot of my family members work there but I don't want to pass up a paid job at this ltc peds facility especially since i have loans/bills to pay. The ltc peds facility wants a 2 year commitment. I don't know what to do :/ i would really prefer a job in a hospital setting too inorder to reach my future goals. If i have to start somewhere i will always put my best foot forward tho and be the best nurse I can be. Should i just take whatever job comes my way even if it is a ltc facility and not a hospital? Would i be able to strengthen my nursing skills? What about the nurse to patient ratios? I heard that ltcs have crazy nurse to pt ratios? Sorry for all the questions. I would appreciate any advice.Thanks for reading you guys :)
