NYP New grad position

Published

Hello.

I recently applied for a new grad position at NYP and I got an email saying my app is currently "being considered" for the new grad opportunity and they will "contact me within the next 2 weeks regarding next step/status etc".

Does that mean I have a chance to land an interview, or is it what everyone gets after they apply?

It was not a computer generated email.....but an email from an actual person......

Any feedbacks will be greatly appreciated! Thank you :)

I just got an interview date/time too for the new grad med/surg program at Cornell but someone from an agency called me which I thought was odd. Does anyone know about Cornell using an outside agency to hire for the new grad RN program? Does that mean we will be employed by the agency or NYP?

Yeah mine was agency too I think cause I have to make a profile for nursefinders.com but it's for the new grad cornell program so I'm assuming we would get hired as NYP employees not agency. My interview is next wed. They said they're interviewing for the program next wed and thurs.

you guys think we still have a chance to get a call this week or is it all over?

@shadowness i REALLY hope it's not. from their emails it sounded like it was going to be a big program...so I imagine they'd like to interview a bigger group. (At least that's what I've been telling myself)

They told me on the phone that they're interviewing Weds and Thurs but that program is hiring 20 new nurses, so I can't imagine all hope is lost. If I were you, I would call and ask about the status of my app.

yeah but your interview is for the 20 nurse program so if its 2 days of interviews you'd think the people are already chosen.

i emailed ---- and all i got was a generic email back that had nothing to do with what i asked :(

To everyone who is still waiting,

I emailed one of the contacts and from the response it would seem theyre done filling positions for the program (or rather, filling interview positions.) Her email said that they may have more positions become available during the october/november timeframe. Hope this helps.

Hi everyone! Just as an update, just had my interview and got a job. It's for the new grad med surg float team and you're hired through nursefinders not Presbyterian, so salary is less, but whatever I'm just pumped to be employed haha. The program I'm in starts in November, so anyone that also gets a spot, PM me! And good luck to everyone else on this thread!

Specializes in General ICU.
