I recently applied for a new grad position at NYP and I got an email saying my app is currently "being considered" for the new grad opportunity and they will "contact me within the next 2 weeks regarding next step/status etc".
Does that mean I have a chance to land an interview, or is it what everyone gets after they apply?
It was not a computer generated email.....but an email from an actual person......

I emailed them monday asking if there were any updates but I've yet to get an answer. What exactly did they tell you guys when you last contacted them? Also, how long did take for a response?

I just got a call from NYP!!! Again, Telling me same thing...thanks for attending the new grad event (yeah way back in june lol) and asking me if i am still interested in the new grad med-surg opportunity starting soon and if I started working somewhere.......i told her i started working in level 2 trauma center ER and i will apply NYP after gaining at least 1 year experience as i really do wanna work there at some point......
So good luck everyone who is still waiting to get accepted to NYP new grad positions! It is clear they are still looking for new grad nurses to fill their positions.
I am really surprised and glad that they consistently still call me since few months ago!!!!!!!!!!! Very nice of them :-)
You went in june though not july? I think they had a open interview day for new grads twice then. Sorry for all the questions we are just all very curious as to when we will get a call, one way or the other :) Congrats again on your job though! this market is rough!
@shadowness- theyve had a few new graduate events. I attended one in June (at Columbia) and one in July (at the Lower Manhattan hospital.) After all of that I got the possible med-surg rotation being opened up at Cornell email in August.
Still no phone call though >.
But hopefully a positive one will come for us within the next few days!!
Yeah I heard about the columbia one. I only went to the lower manhattan one. The fact that someone has gotten a call it good news. Who knows whether they are calling june ppl first and july 2nd or how they are doing it. It is giving me some hope though, especially in this market

Yea i went to the one at columbia on june 14. But i didn't do any "mini interviews" with any of panels there during that day except stopping by at "new grad residency" table because I was only looking for an ER position desperately.....so at the end of event, i even wrote ER, OR and med-surg as my 3 top preferred units although those were not there lol I am sure they will call you guys soon! GOOD LUCK!! :-)
They just called me. All they asked was whether I was still interested in the med surg program and if i had found a job yet. She said it would be starting in oct or nov and that she'd update my file and theyd contact me when theyve figured out exact dates etc. I didnt ask any questions I just listened.
