NVCC / NOVA Traditional Nursing Fall 2019 - MEC

Hello , Everyone I'm a third semester student at Northern Virginia Community College and I know this is a bit early to be inquiring about nursing school but I just would like to get a head start on getting to know everyone interested in applying! I'm excited for the upcoming semester! i have some ice breakers to get this conversation started as well. Has anyone taken the TEAS test yet and if so how was your experience? and also do you have any remaining classes to take before applying.

I just checked FB and they said once the rules are made regarding the TEAS, then they’ll update. Lol so vague ?

I hear they might raise the TEAS requirements considering a lot of people got high 70s-80s this session

Omg guys! So on MEC's Facebook page a current student of the nursing program commented. She said last year they accepted 120 students and only 30 ish persons are left in the program! That's crazy! Is nursing school this bad?

Some people aren’t passionate or lose focus, get stressed..that’s why you need to make sure this is what you want to do. It’s intense

She said they are down 20-30 people as in there are only 90-100 people left, not down to 30 people.

Maybe tomorrow, at this point I’m starting to think we won’t know anything until the 8 week cut off date

5/15 (next wednesday) is 8 weeks so I expect by then at the latest. I would guess we’ll hear by this Friday.

Hang in there! Exams end Friday, I don't think you will hear anything until Friday 5 pm at the earliest.

Last year exams ended May 8 and we heard May 10.

Thank you blb28 for the info. I wonder if they will take into account the spring semester grades, or if they look at only those completed at the time of the application.
