Hello , Everyone I'm a third semester student at Northern Virginia Community College and I know this is a bit early to be inquiring about nursing school but I just would like to get a head start on getting to know everyone interested in applying! I'm excited for the upcoming semester! i have some ice breakers to get this conversation started as well. Has anyone taken the TEAS test yet and if so how was your experience? and also do you have any remaining classes to take before applying.
I myself have BIO 142 left to take and will also be taking chemistry online on nursing abc.
Scratch that prerequisite requirements have changed

I just found that out. I am so worried because I got a C in A&P I and was really hoping a better grade in A&P II will help me out. My overall gpa is 3.2 now. I Dont know if I should retake A&P I or just hope for the best.
Take it over again within the span of 8 weeks and try for a better grade have you thought about that?
have you taken the teas test yet?
Yes, I think I should do that now but I have to pay out of pocket :/ Also, it said we have to take an elective. Do you know what electives we can take?
No, I haven't yet. I am hoping to do so by the end of January. when are you planning on applying?
You can take any elective as long as its three credits and why would you have to pay out of pocket?
Ill be applying after I complete chemistry and take the teas test.
Because I am currently receiving a prerequisite loan; no grants since I already have a bachelors degree. So thats why. Are you currently taking chemistry or will take it in spring?
ok understood, and no im going to began the class in january on the nursing abc website, my last class required before applying, looking back on the previous forum from 2018 i think your gpa is fine have you spoken to a MEC representative about it?

Hi everyone! I am hoping to apply for the Fall 2019 cohort, as well. Just wanted to shed a little light- if you have a bachelors degree, you do not need to take the SDV course. Just in case someone didn't know, I would hate to see someone waste their time/money on the course! A little about me- I have a BA from GMU and my GPA was very low (2.4). I received a B in both A&P I and PSY 230. I also plan to apply to both GW and GMU nursing programs. Anyone else have a similar plan?
