  1. The ATI online practice tests are helpful and very similar to the actual exam. Also, the Mometrix and ATI books help to prepare. For co-req's, BIO 142 and BIO 150. Good luck!!
  2. I got an e-mail saying the previous one was sent in error - did anyone else get that?
  3. Just got my acceptance e-mail. Good luck to all!
  4. Hi - I'm applying for Spring 2020. I was actually accepted for Fall 2019 but cannot go at this time so need to reapply. I'm wondering about the TEAS scores and eligibility. I took the TEAS in February 2019. For this cycle, do the TEAS scores need to be taken during the application period, or is it okay that I submit scores from last Feb? In this blog post: https://blogs.nvcc.edu/mecexchange/2019/07/, and using the eligibility checker it says Were your ATI TEAS taken on or after Tuesday, September 20, 2016? , so I assume my scores are ok, but I'm wondering why in the last cycle they didn't accept scores unless they were taken during the application period?
  5. Please don't lose hope! There is a lot you can still do. I too have a BS in Biology and didn't focus well during undergrad. I'm much older now and when taking the pre-req's for nursing changed my studying strategy, etc. I realized that I need to sit towards the front of the class and also take lots of notes. Also, I re-write my notes after class and do the study guides by hand writing, then type it up. This doesn't work for everyone, it's just something I learned that I have to do to help me remember things. If you didn't get an A in BIO 141, can you retake and try for a better grade, and also retake the TEAS? My understanding is that they only look at the best grade you get. The ATI practice tests are very helpful.
  6. Does anyone want to make a Facebook group for the cohort?
  7. Does anyone have any idea what the first semester would look like in terms of how many days a week we have classes/clinical?
  8. I just got my acceptance e-mail!! For future applicants, might help for them to know accepted stats... Mine are 4.0 pre-req GPA and 86 TEAS.
  9. Thank you blb28 for the info. I wonder if they will take into account the spring semester grades, or if they look at only those completed at the time of the application.
  10. Oh sorry! This is just me thinking that if they have processed the apps, they might change the degree assigned - I just came up with this idea myself trying to figure out, but I haven't ever heard of them doing that. I think Canvas is replacing Blackboard - so I was just wondering if any thing would be in there yet.
  11. Yeah I think it's 100-150 pending how many clinical spots they can secure. I've been checking SIS to see if degree changed and also the new canvas system but nothing. Haha - just too anxious about it all.
  12. I'm also checking mine constantly even though I get notifications when I get emails.? Just a nervous habit. They said they would be sending out decisions the first week of May at the earliest. So might not be this week. This year is actually much earlier than previous years looking back at past year threads. Hope to see everyone in the fall! I'm glad they decided to do spring again, as that gives more opportunities to apply each year.
  13. Does anyone have backups that they are looking into? I think we're all very anxious about this. I've been exploring options in the case that I don't get in this fall, the first being applying for next Spring. Other than that, I'm not sure. I already have a bachelor's degree and doing an ABSN isn't an option for me right now because I need to work while going to school and those programs don't allow for working. Also, I've heard great things about NVCC's nursing program from people in the field. What other programs do people know about as a backup if not accepted here or next Spring?
  14. I applied on March 6 and heard back last Friday, so I think you should hear this week or next on eligibility. Seems every app is reviewed in the order that they were submitted to determine if eligible or not.
