HIS 101 was part of the humanities elective list prior to 2017. It is no longer advised to take that course for MEC programs. Make sure you are looking at the catalog for the year you started the nursing program. Not the one from when you started taking pre-requisites. https://www.nvcc.edu/catalog/index.html

I’d love to get as many of those out of the way as possible so I can focus on the nursing classes, especially since I’ll need to work full-time (or close to it) during the program.
Or, has anyone taken Microbiology in a shortened term that can weigh in on how difficult it is to do?
From what we have observed, students on average earn a letter grade lower than they would have in a full-term course. Unless that person has prior experience with the subject or is particularly good at time management.

Unless specified by the school you are applying to PSY 200 and SOC 200 are not recommended courses. We would encourage you to look at the requirements for those other schools before settling on a course. Most students take PHI 227, MTH 154, MTH 245 as electives to help them when moving onwards to their next level of nursing education. Be sure to double-check with your transfer school prior to committing to a course.

We are awaiting word from the college president and community college chancellor for what the fall will look like.

I should have clarified. I needed SOC 200 and PSY 200 for all the other nursing programs I’ve applied too. That’s why I recommended them. I totally agree with a math or a stats class! Nutrition was another common prerequisites for nursing programs I’ve looked at. It truly depends on what BSN or other RN programs you’re looking at! Great advice MEC.
I just received a rejection letter. It said there were over 550 applications for a class of 60-80. I’m so, so sad and honestly surprised, as I felt I was a competitive applicant:
4.0 in pre-reqs, 2/4 co-reqs completed, resident of Arlington County
CONGRATS to those of you made the cut! I’m going to take the other 2 co-recs this Summer and re-apply for the Spring. Hope to meet you all then!
I just got my emailed acceptance and hope it wasn't a mistake. despite a low overall GPA, I completed all prereqs (4.0) and I'm a resident of fairfax county. I also completed the TEAS and felt like my score was competitive, though I know this wouldn't have factored into it.
as a pessimist, I'd been having recurring dreams that I didn't get in so I felt prepared and ready to do more classes and a cna program in preparation for re-applying in the Spring.
good luck to everybody.
edit: I'm honestly pretty shocked. maybe it was a mistake? haha, very nervous but also very excited! definitely going to order take out tonight and hug my dog ?

Congratulations, I’m so excited for you! I’m an optimist and bought myself a nice bottle of champagne in hopes that I’d have good news to celebrate... I too will be getting take out and hugging my dog and drinking consolation champagne tonight LOL. Hopefully I’m not far behind ?

Me, too! Does yours say "provisional acceptance" with those 4 steps that must be completed? CONGRATS to others as well!
And to others who have not heard yet, please do not lose hope. They may be sent out in batches. And folks who have been accepted may have chosen to attend other schools already so people could very well be pulled from the wait list. Best of luck to you all!
