  1. If you mean the application then no. The dates and requirements are on www.nvcc.edu/medical/apply click on requirements and deadlines to see the next application cycle.
  2. For those accepted, make sure to start working on the MEC Symposium Canvas site. The live session will be held the afternoon after the Nursing Orientation. Please start with the introduction and letter to self assignments.
  3. That would not impact the admissions decision. If it happens after Nov. 2nd it will have been for unrelated reasons. Most services including the processing of applications are 100% remote as of March 18 and are not impacted by campus closures.
  4. The shorter window is to help manage the processing of applications more efficiently. We don't expect it to impact overall application numbers that much. There is still no official decision on what they will do about the TEAS for Fall 2021. Yes. All areas that fall under the service area are treated the same.
  5. Not that early. We'd say the middle of October to be on the safe side.
  6. We would also advise that for those that get accepted and meet the criteria they look into the MASON ADVANCE for nursing https://www.nvcc.edu/advance/
  7. They are talking about applying directly to MASON nursing and skipping NOVA RN. If you go to NOVA RN and transfer to MASON you would be doing their RN to BSN program or MASON BSN CO-Enrollment. https://nursing.gmu.edu/academics/bachelor-science-nursing-BSN-programs
  8. It might be a bit faster this year. so far the process is about 3 weeks ahead of schedule. Unless something comes up it should be pretty quick,
  9. We recommend you enroll in whatever Spring courses you had planned to. If accepted you can adjust your schedule accordingly.
  10. Step 1 of the nursing application review is done. If you have met all the entry requirements, you should have gotten an email explaining the rest of the steps. You may be selected to provide additional documentation to confirm your domicile/residency for the next step. (Step 2). The final step is the ranking of all eligible students. Virginia Residents that live in the NOVA Service Area (counties where NOVA has a campus or office), for example, are ranked in group one, and students are then ranked by their score. The department will contact students and offer them a spot (Step 3). All other students (that have met the entry requirements) will be notified that the program is full. Example: The highest-ranked DC resident will always be ranked lower than the lowest-ranked Virginia Resident in NOVA's Service area.
  11. If you have applied and were asked to provide your high school transcript, please do so ASAP. The proper way to provide that document when asked is via the Health Science and Nursing Applicaiton. Click the Green "View Application Button" in the email that was sent to you and attach the requested documents. Having provided college transcripts or holding a degree does not exempt you from this requirement. Due to the large volume of applications questions regarding the "status" of your application won't be answered. You can see the status by clicking the "View Application Button" in your original confirmation email.
  12. Please be aware that if you retake a course at NOVA the most recent grade will count This means that if you take the course and get a lower grade that is the grade that will now be counted towards your GPA. If you get the A, same deal.
  13. We do not recommend posting your phone number in a public forum. If doing so consider a Google number to protect yourself.
  14. Our application team would access your original transcript to find the grade if needed our blog post goes into more detail https://blogs.nvcc.edu/mecexchange/faq/#_Toc521950140.
  15. The application team will look at your original grade. So if you took PSY 123123 at your old school and earned a B- and transferred it to NOVA as PSY 230. you would be marked as having earned a C. Our blog FAQ goes into more detail, https://blogs.nvcc.edu/mecexchange/faq/#_Toc521950140
