Hi,
I just need some insight from all of you...I am planning to apply for nursing at NVCC for fall 2016. I have finished all my prerequisites and general requirement with the gpa of 3.7 but my teas score is on the lower side. I still have two chances to take it again but the student services have told me that since I passed I can't take it again. Is it true? If I were to take it again, will the nursing team take my highest score for consideration? Any help will be appreciated! 😊
I wondered why? They lowered the TEAS score to get more applicant and now they are accepting 20%.... I don't understand why they did that...
Exactly! It just doesn't make sense. The whole purpose of them lowering the TEAS score was to get more applicants since they were lacking students applying to the program, and now that they do receive more applicants, they decide that they're only going to accept 50-60 people. How that makes any sense to them, I don't know. It's frustrating.
I'm just betting on what the student services rep said in the live video regarding them accepting more students if more clinical sites open up. Just trying to stay positive.
I have not heard anything of anyone getting accepted as of yet. Supposedly LPN to RN applicants would get notified by today, but who really knows. They may not be notified as soon as today.
I have also not heard any update regarding the percentage of acceptances being increased. I'm still hoping they will be increasing it though.
Has anyone else seen the video they posted yesterday on the MEC fb page regarding the "Application Process Explained"? I saw it and it was explaining the whole process our applications go through, but the person who runs the fb page did comment on the video to say that the Nursing applications are in the "domicile review" stage, which seems to be nowhere near the stage where we receive our acceptance emails. I'm beginning to doubt that we will hear anything back regarding our acceptances this Friday.
I saw the video and still have more questions then ever. I don't know why it's taking this long. Usually other programs does this during the spring semester and student get notified when spring semester end. So student can planned their summer break. I am really losing little hope and we won't get notified until other two weeks... Since we are not near the final process. They don't do interview so idk.
I saw that too, I don't understand how they could still be in the domicile review stage. It seems like that should be over with by now. I really had my hopes set on Friday. But you're right, it doesn't look like we'll hear anything by then. Since apparently the have yet to "rank" us. Ugh.
Hopefully, we get some news Friday. I really know to planned out my job since my boss set out schedule for the next month. And I have to get two week notice for the orientation. Ugh... Let's hope. They should aleast give us the percentage on how many.. Idk why their isn't alot of clinical this year. Last year, I heard there were alot... and now nothing.. Ugh sorry... Just getting little impatient..
I know. It has definitely been an extensive process, and being that it has been over a month now of waiting, it is getting a bit discouraging.
A lot of people have been asking questions recently on anything they post up on their fb page, but I've noticed that they have not been replying to anyone in those comments. Which kind of makes it even more frustrating, as we do want to know how much longer it will take and such.
I'm just hoping that being at the "domicile review" stage now will not take very long and we will get to the ranking stage quickly. But from the looks of it, I'm gonna have to agree & say that we may be looking at another 1 week to 2 weeks of waiting... [emoji53]
I spoke with them today and heard they are accepting only 72 students into the Traditional Nursing program. They had nearly 400 applicants to both the Traditional and LPN program some of which were weeded out for missing things/incomplete applications. Students services told me that it could be another 2 weeks before we hear but then the nursing dept. said either this afternoon or tomorrow. So who knows when we will actually hear. This waiting game is no fun! Good luck everyone!
