Nvcc fall 2016

Published

Hi,

I just need some insight from all of you...I am planning to apply for nursing at NVCC for fall 2016. I have finished all my prerequisites and general requirement with the gpa of 3.7 but my teas score is on the lower side. I still have two chances to take it again but the student services have told me that since I passed I can't take it again. Is it true? If I were to take it again, will the nursing team take my highest score for consideration? Any help will be appreciated! 😊

Has anyone gotten anything so far today? I'm beginning to think that tomorrow may be the day instead of today!

I have been checking my email every five minutes and nothing yet. I really hope they let us know today because I am so anxious!

I just got an email saying that they will start notifying applicants soon and that some will and some won't make it. They also said that the top 24% of the applicant pool will be accept based upon gpa and teas scores! Keep your heads up everyone! Fingers crossed!

Just got this:

The nursing division will soon start notifying students regarding their admission to the nursing program. Some of you will make and some will not.

While the nursing division received many well-qualified candidates, only the top 24% of the eligible applicant pool will be accepted into the program. A combination of strong GPAs and above average TEAS scores will be the determining factor in this year's application pool.

The nursing program just like any of our allied health majors are extremely challenging. Students that have demonstrated their ability to succeed or excel in their prerequisites tend to perform better in their chosen major and pass their respective licensure exams.

We understand the emotion and hope tied up with applying to any program. We have worked with thousands of students over the years that did not make the cut. The students that really wanted it, dusted themselves off and made improvements. Either by improving a test score or achieving a higher grades on a course or courses. Student service staff are always on hand to act as a resource to help you plan your next step in the event that you are not one of those selected.

We wish you all the best and hope to see you around campus this fall.

I just got an email from student services saying that the nursing division will notify us soon. It was basically a letter to encourage those not accepted to improve their grades and or their teas score. They said they are only accepting top 24% of the applicant pool. I do not know if anyone else got this message. Please let us know if any of you all got this email. Good luck to all!

I got the same email as well. I'm sure everyone is receiving it. 24% is still very low, but there's nothing we can do about it now. Good luck again everyone!!

I just got that email as well! Im guessing they sent it out to all the applicants just now. I appreciate the message, but now that we've finally gotten some word from them i'm all keyed up 😩 I almost had a heart attack when i saw the email notification, thought for sure it was the acceptance/rejection email. Its disheartening that theyre really only accepting 24%! Ah well. Good luck all

Goodness, I just got that email too. I saw the subject line and got so nervous and excited at the same time and then was super disappointed to see that it wasn't the actual decision. What an emotional rollercoaster!

Waiting is nerve-racking , first they say today or tomorrow. Well, we are half way thru a work day today, and no one have yet post any news that they received an email from the nursing department.:( Good Luck to all.

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!!! I got the email and had mini heart attack but read it and was like "oooh well 24%".. It is really discouraging now... I am scared since my TEAS score were not good but my GPA is...

Same as all of you..my heart dropped when I saw it. Lol it was a very discouraging email. Like some of you said I also have a pretty strong gpa but just okay TEAS scores. I'm preparing for the worst, hoping for the best! Best luck to all of us!!

I got an email about only accepting 24%
