NVC -CP- GC Tracker

Published

I am starting a new thread to track cases from NVC - embassy to GC.

The best news for RN in China, Phillippines and India has been great and informative thread, but I think it is more appropriate and convenient if we start a new thread.

Also with the rapid scheduling of interviews for most of us, I am looking beyond the CP and anticipating the GC!

The August interview schedules are out already in India, and recently in the Philippines and hopefully in China.

Anyone heard of HR 3012? A new immigration bill that was recently approved in Congress and is now due for Senate's vote. Don't rejoice just yet people as this bill is expected to cause delay on the processing of PDs of applicants from the Philippines, Mexico and the ROWs. This however would benefit those applicants coming from INdia and China.

Hi there CarribRN,

Can you please explain further? I thought that would be a good jumpstart especially those waiting in line for sometime now.

Angeldust,

Follow the links below. I find them to be a good analysis of what possible effect/s this new bill would have once approved in the senate and signed by the president.

None of what is being proposed seems to be good for nursing especially for those in consular processing as employers can simply not wait the many years to bring those nurses over. Carrib RN are you from Canada working in the US? I am from Canada and have been waiting for GC for going on 5 years and started a Masters in 2010 and about to graduate in August 2012 as a MSN, Family Nurse Practitioner. If this bill goes through I am worried I won't be able to work as an NP as my current application was for nursing only and would be unable to use EB2 as it will likely be severely retrogressed. It doesn't seem anyone is focusing on how the bill impacts nursing but just IT. Ironically my hubby could not even get a job in IT after the IT crash in 2001 in Canada or the US and so I upgraded my education and got into nursing. Now after all my efforts it will mean that IT is the focus for immigration. It just doesn't seem right.

let's have a break this time, allow me to greet you a very merry christmas and a properous new year 2012!! hopefully we all have our turn next year. 2012 would be our year guys!

PD march 20006

Hi edzz. I think we have the same case. My pd is january 2006, i did not receive any letter from nvc yet. In 2006 I was petitioned by Kaiser as my hospital employer, I completed up to packet 3 in 2006 until retrogression started. In 2009 my agency told me that Kaiser no longer have the vacant position for me so as to say that my petition was abandoned.. So if my pd becomes current, like right now its current already, i do not expect to be interviewed bacause i have abandoned petition... Luckily my agency found another petitioner for me which is medpro, so it means i have to go back to square 1, the good thing is i retain my PD. medpro filed i140 for me last december 28 using expedited processing which takes 15days then my papers will be forwarded to NVC for the packet 3.. My agency told me to expect iv fee bill by march..when all the steps in packet 3 are completed, ill be scheduled for consular interview since my PD is already current... I ope this helps..

Dear ALL,

My PD is feb 2006.... I already recieved my interview schedule from NVC and it will be on Feb 21, 2012. I know this is something to celebrate because the long wait is over but i have few concerns that is reallt stressing me out...

1. Expired Visa Screen - My agency did not inform me that my VS already expired. I called CGFNS and was told that I had to do it all over again.... I was not able to talk to the customer service agent properly, she just answered yes and no.. I was actually baffled by this.. Does "all over again" means I have to take CGFNS exam again???!!! Or I just have to apply for the initial application ($540) and do the same process again?

2. My agency is a pain in the tush!!! -- My major stressor!!! I cannot talk to them properly and they are not being upfront with me. Ive been bugging them since the day 1 got the letter from NVC and I cannot get a straight answer from them.. :(

ANGELDUST, I read your message and I would like to know the new agency you are with.. My agency is really driving me crazy!!! I think everyone here who were affected by the retrogression understands what I am feeling right now.

Ive waited for this for almost 8 years and I dont want to put this to waste just because my agency sucks :(

This is on the CGFNS website Renewal VSC

Hooray RN na stress! You got your interview schedule and yet you still have to renew your US license. You have to retake the IELTS exam and pay the renewal fees in cgfns website. Best of luck!

Hi RN na Stress,To renew your visascreen you first need to log in to your cgfns account, so you need to remember your username and password..the steps are clear and easy, just read on your account.. You dont need to take cgfns or nclex again. But you need an unexpired ielts, i think ielts expires in two years, or else you have to retake ielts. In the meantime that you are preparing to retake your ielts you may start accomplishing the other requirements which are enumerated in your account..these are also the requirements you submitted during your initial application such as document from prc, document from school, photo id, test result from idp or british council, your photo id...etc...if you have all the requirements ready you will be able to get your visascreen cert as early as 4 weeks, always check your email coz cgfns updates you about the documents they just received..they also update your status in your account..

visascreen cert is one of the important docs that the consul will ask from you during the interview, but there are nurses who proceed with the interview even without it and the consul will just instruct you or give you a period of time to accomplish the visascreen and once you got it you only need to mail it to the embassy and then they will release your visa, that is if visascreen is the only doc you were lacking..With regards to your agency, you realy need to talk to them because most probably they have all your orig docs which you need to present during your interview, the consul will also ask from you a job offer from your employer which you will get from your agency..but first of all, you have to ask your agency if your petitioner still wants to petition you or abandoned you..

If your petioner abandoned you thats the time you need to look for another petitioner or employer where in you need to go back to packet 1..many agencies are willing to support nurses with current priority date but with abandoned petition..but these agencies do not like to have legal issues with your previous employer or agencies so they will ask from you a release letter from yourpeeviousagency... You realy need toclarify your status with your agency because for me if theres no problem with your current petitioner theres no reasonwhy they would not be excited in helping you with your interview..clarify to them if you have an abndoned petitions, because if this is thecase then you will not be issueda visa without a petitioner..you realy need to go back to finding new employer, filing i140 to us is and all the steps..but the good thing about abandoned petiion is you retain your priority date, so you just need to go back to packet 1 until pa ket 3, agencies today do premium processing on packet one so its faster now compared to several months of processing on 2005..usually this time it takes 3-4 months from packet 1 to packet 3..Hope this helps..

By the way im a nurse from phil, pd jan 2006, with abandoned petition from kaiser hospital, with new petitioner medpro, i140 filed last dec 28, 2011 under premium premium processing, i140 approved january 9, 2012. Now waiting for i140 to be sent to nvc for packet 3. My agency told me to expect packet 3 by end of march. Hope everything ends well...
