  1. JakaRN, tried sending you an email but it kept bouncing back. My email is [email protected]. Let’s keep in touch. ?
  2. Hi! Anyone here starting this program January 30, 2023?
  3. Hello everyone. Just wanted to know if anybody else here have proven the 10-yr graduation date rule mentioned by Kurina24? I am so hoping that this is really the case so I can endorse my Arizona license to California. Currently practicing in Canada and moving to Arizona next month for work.
  4. Just curious, where in the Caribbean are currently working now?
  5. Of course she would say that since you included in your statistics some other first world countries like Australia, UK and Canada. I bet if that statistic only shows the Philippines she wouldn't change her tone.
  6. There is truth to some of what you said. I will acknowledge that. But I guess the mistake of other posters here is to generalized the education in the Philippines to be substandard. I am working with a new nurse in my unit who finished her nursing degree in the US and boy I tell you, this nurse is extremely green that she doesn't even know the basic stuff like priming an IV line or simple drug computation. But despite that we didn't doubt the US education standard. If we are to generalize like some of the posters are doing here now, all of us nurses in our unit would think that if that's the kind of education one gets in the US, then we are all thankful that we finished our degree in our respective countries.
  7. Angeldust, Follow the links below. I find them to be a good analysis of what possible effect/s this new bill would have once approved in the senate and signed by the president. http://shusterman.com/2011/12/a-better-way-to-end-eb-country-quotas.html http://hammondlawgroup.com/healthcareblog/2011/12/01/what-h-r-3012-means/
  8. Anyone heard of HR 3012? A new immigration bill that was recently approved in Congress and is now due for Senate's vote. Don't rejoice just yet people as this bill is expected to cause delay on the processing of PDs of applicants from the Philippines, Mexico and the ROWs. This however would benefit those applicants coming from INdia and China.
  9. Exactly as I remembered. They do accept both module whether it is Academic or General. And if you have completed your nursing education in an english speaking country or you have worked for at least a year in an english speaking country, you will be exempt from the language requirement test. I know CNO is the only College that accepts General IELTS.
  10. Correct me if I am wrong but last time I checked CNO accepts General IELTS as well, unless they recently changed it to Academic only.
  11. I wonder which pathway these nurses are going to take or what the agency is actually planning to do with them. It definitely won't be for H1B or H1C as they will not meet the criteria to qualify for such. An informed individual will definitely recognized something fishy is going on here and will have second thoughts before accepting this offer.
  12. The fast processing of a visa has nothing to do with the agency. All applications are being processed the same way, regardless if it was lodged through an agency or by the applicant themselves. I firmly believe that if only an applicant won't be lazy to research the process on their own and if they can comprehend english well, there will be no need for these agencies as the step-by-step guide on how to file for the application as well as the checklist of requirements to be submitted is posted on the CIC website. I did all the leg work by myself when I migrated and got my visa in 9months (supposedly in 7 months only I wasn't able to submit my passport in time when the embassy asked for it). It just fascinates me how many people out there are so willing to spend thousands of dollars for the so-called "services" of these agencies when all they will do is to lodge the application on your behalf. If you come to think of it, who will secure your birth certificate? your employment records? your school documents? your bank details? All the answer to these questions is a big YOU. You and You Alone. All the agency will do is to compile these documents and submit it; and voila! they got an extra thousand dollars in their pocket. No sweat. Fast and easy. And you as an applicant - well, a few thousand poorer.
  13. "to" is a preposition meaning in the direction of, towards, i n comparison with; it introduces the indirect object in a clause or expresses the purpose of an action. "too" is an adverb which means also, likewise, in addition or extremely, very (too hot, too much; i'm english, too). ..."is it" or "it is"? => are you asking a question? or are you making a statement? now, i can tell english is not your first language. you might wanna proof read before posting specially if you are correcting someone's english skills in a public forum. not knowing the difference between these two simple words, as you have said, "reflects poor english skills".
