NVC -CP- GC Tracker

Published

I am starting a new thread to track cases from NVC - embassy to GC.

The best news for RN in China, Phillippines and India has been great and informative thread, but I think it is more appropriate and convenient if we start a new thread.

Also with the rapid scheduling of interviews for most of us, I am looking beyond the CP and anticipating the GC!

The August interview schedules are out already in India, and recently in the Philippines and hopefully in China.

Here is my case details

Thanks Leis23. I think its already or should be with the lawyers at this time.... But i'm hoping for the best for you esp. on your wedding... God Bless!

They did not ask for new pics as well? Many still have unexpired NBI clearances as well and gave the complete requirements last year so many are expecting that only the DS-230 forms will be asked to be updated but not sure how long they keep the pictures valid.

yes lawrence they did not ask for pictures .My lawyer sent me an email and they are asking for the ds230 of my husband only.but I sent the complete files to my agency just in case .

hoping thats the only requirement that they are asking for ...?

Congrats,Fruity! I just hope mine will follow soon.According to the NVC OVR , the letter was sent already to the lawyer, and that was about 3 days ago. I already sent my docs to my lawyer so in case ,she receives the letter she can forward my docs to the NVC asap.:yeah:

Hi ..just want to know what are the docs you sent to your lawyer?

pd feb 2006

fruity you mean you send the passport size pics?? Or you send the 2x2 size photo? My agency is asking the 2x2 photos

my lawyer has not responded about my ds-230 but when i called him and asked him about adding my husband, he said i can add him by requesting for an interview for him during my interview by presenting docs about our marriage. it's okay if it'll take two years..my husband has an active tourist visa anyway. but i read this part from a webiste: http://www.immihelp.com/gc/consular/employment-immigration-marriage.html

3. Marriage after returning the documents to NVC/consulate, but before the interview:

Consulate may not schedule your spouse's interview along with you. You will attend your interview as planned. Bring a certified copy of your marriage certificate and completed DS-230 Part I for your spouse to the interview. Please let the officer know that you recently got married and ask them to schedule an interview for your spouse. Interview will be scheduled approximately within 60 days. You can either wait for your spouse to go through consular processing and get immigrant visa, and both of you go together, or you can go back to US with your immigrant visa and your spouse can enter US later as an immigrant once he/she gets immigrant visa.

but it is not mention for how long he will be able to get the immigrant visa..maybe 2 years. :-) It's okay.

Have not seen one spouse that has been added at the time of the interview and granted a visa then. Just does not happen and you cannot even submit one thing in advance for him since you are not married as of yet. And have not seen an interview scheduled in 60 days at least in your country.

It just does not happen like this in the Philippines. They will also be doing a thorough check of your relationship with him, just like they do for the K-1 visa, or fiance visa.

Thanks everyone who responded to my post.

Fruity congrats for having your case completed. I wonder why my lawyer has not requested for my documents yet and he is not responding to my email.

Yes, I sent passport size photos. The passport requirement was not really new to me since this is the 3rd time my lawyer asked me to send them together with the other docs.... I think they are not that strict with photos since I also read on other posts of some lawyers asking for 2x2.

Hi! I send our ds230's, bc,mc,xerox of our passports, nbi, and 2x2 pics.Hope my lawyer will receive the letter soon,so as she can submit our upadted docs.

Goodluck to us!:wink2:

well..i will still try. there's really nothing wrong with hoping. maybe i'll be the first case in my country. that's my lawyer's advice too. i will be married on May 3 and since my updated ds-230 form has not arrived yet, i will be married by the time i get interviewed. i don't have anything to worry about my relationship since we've been together for two years now before getting married. :-) they can check its authenticity.

i hope you don't at least stop me from hoping. but i appreciate your comments. thanks!

i'll surely update you guys about my hubby-to-be's case. maybe it'll be the first breakthrough.. :D

Question for Suzanne:

My PD is Nov 2005. After I gave birth to my son last April 13, 2007, I sent his DS230 along with supporting documents last year when our PD became current July 2007. Now my agency told me that the lawyer received a letter from NVC only asking for police clearance, updated DS230s and photos. Just want to ask if adding the DS230 of my son last year could in any way delay the completion of our case?

i'll surely update you guys about my hubby-to-be's case. maybe it'll be the first breakthrough.. :D

To be honest, your case isn't really a unique one. The consulates will deal with it just like how they've dealt with it from previous ones. If they don't, it will be unfair to all previous cases similar to yours.

If I were in your shoes, I would choose to go ahead and let your dependents to just follow until the next cycle again.

Not sure if you've read someone post here about her choosing not to go through and just wait so that both of them can migrate together. They did not count on retrogression delaying things more than they once expected.

Of course, it is your choice on what to do. Good luck.
