NVC -CP- GC Tracker

Published

I am starting a new thread to track cases from NVC - embassy to GC.

The best news for RN in China, Phillippines and India has been great and informative thread, but I think it is more appropriate and convenient if we start a new thread.

Also with the rapid scheduling of interviews for most of us, I am looking beyond the CP and anticipating the GC!

The August interview schedules are out already in India, and recently in the Philippines and hopefully in China.

Here is my case details

Question for Suzanne:

My PD is Nov 2005. After I gave birth to my son last April 13, 2007, I sent his DS230 along with supporting documents last year when our PD became current July 2007. Now my agency told me that the lawyer received a letter from NVC only asking for police clearance, updated DS230s and photos. Just want to ask if adding the DS230 of my son last year could in any way delay the completion of our case?

Hi bratinella, did the NVC send a visa fee bill for your newborn son last year when you sent his DS230? Did you pay your son's fee bill? How long did it take from the time you sent your updated documents until you were declared case completed? Just curious because I also gave birth this month(April 21, 2008) and my PD will be current this May. Have not sent a DS230 for my newborn yet since I don't have any supporting docs yet (birth cert and passport for her) and my lawyer has not requested for my updated documents yet. I will just add her during the interview. But I am just curious how long it took for your case to be completed last year from the time you informed them of your son's birth(sending DS230) to case completion and if you paid NVC your son's visa fee bill.

hi, my hubby and I got married oct 2005, our case was completed August 2006, then retro started nov 2006. We were asked by my agency to submit updated ds230s last year just like the rest of you..i included my son's ds230 too and supporting docs. I dont know whether my agency submitted his papers or not or if they paid his bill...i still have to ask them about it. Now that our case will be current next month...they again asked for updated ds230s, police cert and photos. I dont know whether submitting the ds230 of my son last year and this year could delay the completion of my case...or should I just add him during the interview?

With your case, I think it would be faster if you'll include your baby's docs during the interview. And by the way it takes times for NSO to give you the barcoded birth cert....I found a way to expedite my son's birth cert...and still I got it 2 months after....If I remember it right I received it last week of June 2007. Goodluck!

To be honest, your case isn't really a unique one. The consulates will deal with it just like how they've dealt with it from previous ones. If they don't, it will be unfair to all previous cases similar to yours.

If I were in your shoes, I would choose to go ahead and let your dependents to just follow until the next cycle again.

Not sure if you've read someone post here about her choosing not to go through and just wait so that both of them can migrate together. They did not count on retrogression delaying things more than they once expected.

Of course, it is your choice on what to do. Good luck.

ok. it's better than nothing. at least my hubby to be has a way to follow me to the US in an immigrant status. we can wait for 2 years. i am determined to see the brighter side of things despite how pessimistic some of you are. :-) but thanks for the comments. i really appreciate it.

It's really not being pessimistic but more of not keeping hopes too high. If it gets through, then well and good.

You can look at the link you've posted and see that it is entirely up to the consulates and it even said that they may not be interviewed along with you and needs to be interviewed another time. The consulate in PH is one of the strictest around the world when it comes to these matters. Even someone who have been married for years are still scrutinized and they even ask for wedding pictures, invitations from years back to just have a tangible proof of them being married. It is protocol and people being asked should not get offended as well.

There have been many cases of fraudulent marriages and marriage for convenience (for a fee or as a favor) and is one of the oldest tricks on the book as far as immigration is concern and this why they are strict on this. This is also the same reason why a Filipino applying for a tourist visa in the US Embassy in Manila has a lower approval rate compared to others.

PD NOV 2005

Thanks for the reply. Looks like we are almost exactly on the same case. The difference between us is on the birth of your son (April 2007) and the birth of my daughter(April 2008). We also got married Dec of 2005. Our case was completed August 2006 but still got caught up in retrogression just like you. We also have a PD of Nov 2005 but my lawyer has not requested for updated DS230 yet, I wonder why?the last time I asked he said he has not received the request from NVC yet. I emailed him again but no reply yet so I sent another email to him and to my employer so the employer can also follow up the lawyer since he is their lawyer.

I think you have to include your son already in your updated DS230 this year since he is already 1 year old. The embassy might question you if you add him during the interview because of his age but this is only my opinion. Ask your lawyer what you should do about your son's case in order to avoid any delays in your case.

May I ask in what way did you expedite your son's birth certificate at the NSO. Did you file in Manila or in the province because I am from the province which may take a little longer that filing in Manila.

Yup, our cases are almost the same. I have been reading this thread since 2006..Im just too lazy to write here. My son was born in Sta Maria Bulacan on April 13, 2007. After 3 weeks my husband and I went to NSO Malolos (capital) to request for a transmittal form...after that we went to NSO Quezon City (main) and requested for the barcoded copy. It took another month for us to receive the BC. That's the only time we applied for my son's passport. If you're not going to request for the transmittal form, it would delay the processing of your daughter's BC. I know this coz I called NSO main myself and asked them how to expedite the processing.

Ok. thanks for the info. I'll request for the transmittal form as soon as I receive her birth certificate from the hospital.

Hello everyone:redbeathe:redbeathe:redbeathe I am new here in this site. My PD is August ,2005, I emailed NVC and they replied that they are waiting for my DS230. I have not submitted it and all the other requirements because our employer has not contacted us yet to do so. But we (all my co-applicants that have the same PD as me) had all the requirements prepared and ready to be mailed. Been contacting our employer but cant get through with them yet. But I guess everthing has a perfect time, we will just keep on contacting them until we have the go signal to submit all the requirements. Godbless us all:nuke:

I think you have to contact the NVC directly Neneng06 just like what i did. I prepared the usual docs. NBI, 2x2, Ds230, but then again, they only needed the Ds230.. Well, its better that i have submitted everything.. All docs are to be sent to my agent, they will be the one to forward it to the atty. Start preparing your docs, dont wait for ur lawyer.. contact the NVC directly..
