I am starting a new thread to track cases from NVC - embassy to GC.
The best news for RN in China, Phillippines and India has been great and informative thread, but I think it is more appropriate and convenient if we start a new thread.
Also with the rapid scheduling of interviews for most of us, I am looking beyond the CP and anticipating the GC!
The August interview schedules are out already in India, and recently in the Philippines and hopefully in China.
Here is my case details
Category : EX Schedule A
USCIS receipt : April 2004
Processing Center : Vermont
I-140 approved : October 2004
NVC case number : MNL2004813XXX
NVC forwarded packet 3 : April 5, 2005
Packet 3 sent back to NVC : May 3, 2005
NVC case completed : May 16, 2005
Consular Interview : August 29, 2005

I hope you can also post here your details interview experience.
God bless!
my pd was current april 1 and we have had to send photos it is seemingly a new requirement
Last year when NVC asked for updated forms, my lawyer asked me and my family passport size photos.
BTW, since yours became current April, do already have a schedule for interview this month? please update us your case. Thanks!

If NVC is still processing his updated docs and req'ts then he will not necessarily be given an interview right away even if his PD becomes current this month. He will be given one as soon as NVC closes out his file.
An FYI: there are also a few applicants who do not or unable to respond on time when they are asked to send or re-send documents. Some are even working in some countries and do not have communication with their lawyers/agencies or who do not network with their fellow applicants and so their PDs may become current then retrogress and become current again w/o them knowing that they need to update some of their docs. In short, there are files that are semi-abandoned already.
Hi there, thenx for the update. I just have a few questions, if you don't mind. who is your husband's petitioner? and was your atty really the cause of the delay of the issuance of his gc? what packet is he in now? in fairness to my atty he did a good job when he was handling my case coz from packet 1 to 3 it only took him 3 months. i had my packet 1 - July 2006, packet 2 - Aug 2006, Packet 3 Sept 2006 and if not for "D"retrogression I could have been in US early part of 2007. he was a fast worker coz all in my batch had the same speed of processing compared to other lawyers. so it really pains me that he is such a big mess right now and I sure hope things will get better for him.i can not deny up to now i still worry a bit although the law firm already gave their assurances that somebody has taken over our cases, oh well, lets just say i am a worrier.
hope that your new lawyer deliver, really deliver what you expected from him...best of luck to both of us....and God bless....savian:nuke:
hi savian. you and my husband basically went thru the same things. no offense to abramowitz's firm coz they delivered all necessary papers in time with my husband also except for the gc. i worry a lot too. well, we should be! our lives depend on these things. i just didnt want to be associated with them anymore after their conviction last month. I just wanted peace of mind especially now with the forward movement of the VB. But then again, it could also be reason for delay. you know, for constantly changing atty's. God knows how many times they've transferred our papers to different attys in their firm while they face all those charges. Btw, you should know your atty personally and be able to discuss ur case for your own peace of mind. i just got tired of the scripted replies we got from abramowitz's firm.
Our new atty didn't say the firm was entirely responsible for the delays but it could possibly be one of the reasons. :wink2: God bless!
The photo req't at the NVC level seems to be a blur. Applicants can always submit photos on their respective embassies and most embassies have photo booths as well. You may read bettyboop's thread for reference.
If there were no instructions to give one, I don't think one should. Esp. since photos should be current or taken within 6 mos. as well.
Some lawyers do instruct their clients of it, some don't. Same with police clearances even though it is clear that for the US Embassy in Manila that it is only needed if their client lived/worked on another country for at least 6 mos. If not, a simple NBI clearance for immigration purposes is enough as this encompasses all areas in PH already and is good for 1 year as well.
How many photos were asked for each of each and what size, color of background of photo and other specs? what other documents were asked from you? please let us know so we can prepare these. Thanks
We needed 2" x 2" photos with white background also we have had to send birth certificates and marriage certs etc. We are waiting for our case to be complete and then interview, i have a PD Jun 05
wishing you all the best topscot keeping everything crossed for you to get your interview and medical like me you have been at this for a long time.
Thanks, it has been such a long stressful journey but hopefully now we can get some light at the end of the tunnel but as we now know we can't count our chickens Now with you going i must be the furthest back British nurse out there
Hi there! congratulations to all those whose PD dates are now current.
By the way i would like to ask how long is the validity of the medical? I had mine in June last year. I'm hoping that my PD will be current by next month and I just want to know if I'll have to do it all over again... just in case......also my friend had a son born this year. He missed his visa last year 'coz he lacked one document. he's wondering what he'll need document wise regarding his newborn son. he phoned his agency and they also doesn't know. He's PD is now current (Nov 05)and is just awaiting to hear from embassy.
