NVC -CP- GC Tracker

Published

I am starting a new thread to track cases from NVC - embassy to GC.

The best news for RN in China, Phillippines and India has been great and informative thread, but I think it is more appropriate and convenient if we start a new thread.

Also with the rapid scheduling of interviews for most of us, I am looking beyond the CP and anticipating the GC!

The August interview schedules are out already in India, and recently in the Philippines and hopefully in China.

Here is my case details

Packet 3 sent back to NVC : May 3, 2005

NVC case completed : May 16, 2005

I hope you can also post here your details interview experience.

God bless!

Hello.

Are you really saying that the visa processing bill for cp would still be $380?

Yes. NVC is separate from USCIS and NVC hasn't announced anything yet. Only USCIS fees, of w/c the visa processing fee bill is not part of since this is being handled by the NVC instead.

The Visa fee bill remains at $380.

hi guys. i got an email from nvc yesterday and this is what it stated:

dear madam,

your inquiry has been received at the national visa center (nvc).

the applicant's name has been placed on the list of documentarily

qualified cases awaiting the availability of visa numbers under the

numerical limitations prescribed by statute. the designated

representative of this case (applicant, petitioner, or attorney) will

be

notified of an appointment date as soon as the numbers have been

received. the applicant should not make any travel arrangements, sell

property, or give up employment until the us embassy or consulate

general has issued a visa.

an immigrant visa is usually valid for six months from the date it is

issued. it may be used to apply for admission into the united states

any

time during its validity.

Don't worry, it'll come... amongst us you have the oldest PD and your case is already at the US embassy. You have all the advantages of getting that precious interview. "In God's perfect time"

Good luck to everyone.

hi fruity, i just want to ask if you took cgfns first before nclex? there's a lot of nurses right now who take nclex right away.does this have any difference in getting a green card; taking nclex right away than having the cgfns first?

that would depend on which state you want to work..there are few states that still require CFGNS exam.

requirements to be petitioned for a green card:

you passed NCLEX and IETLS or you passed CGFNS and IELTS

Hi Donty! I took before CGFNS before taking IELTS, then last came the NCLEX. After I graduated and passed the NLE, I was so in a hurry to take all the necessary exams thats needed for the US. Though during that time, didn't really know how things go abou(immigration process, etc...) all I know is that I want to finish those exams right away. In early 2005 with the first agency I had, they were able to file my I140 with just having the CGFNS, but it got denied due to "ability to pay". Was able to file I140 again through direct hire on Dec 2005 with CGFNS and IELTS passed, after a month I passed NCLEX. I don't know it makesa difference since taking the exams and immigration are two different things. I hope I was of help by sharing my experience

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

agree with Rosesun but passing NCLEX is still required to actually work as RN in the US. There are only about 5 states that require CGFNS exam most now will accept CES, although agencies may try to tell you differently
