NVC -CP- GC Tracker

Published

I am starting a new thread to track cases from NVC - embassy to GC.

The best news for RN in China, Phillippines and India has been great and informative thread, but I think it is more appropriate and convenient if we start a new thread.

Also with the rapid scheduling of interviews for most of us, I am looking beyond the CP and anticipating the GC!

The August interview schedules are out already in India, and recently in the Philippines and hopefully in China.

Here is my case details

well, my lawyer sent me the barcoded page..and i was asked to just download the form on the internet on that letter. so, i downloaded the one with the expiry on july 30, 2007.

I would suggest having a chat with lawyer, should be ok if file completed but check on it first

My lawyer asked me just the same with leis23. I just downloaded the ds230. all are going to expire on July 30, 2007, at first I was in doubt since I saw that it will expire on July but there is nothing new. But Why will they ask us the updated ones on June if they will be asking another in Aug( if they will be releasing new ds230 forms). I think the most important thing there is the barcode. It just won't make any sense if they'll ask us to submit another one say after 2 months or so...

Many factors come into play on this one. Which center is handling your DS-230? I usually would give it about four months at the minimum, especially since they are trying to get thru the mounds of paperwork for US passports at the moment. That takes priority over a visa to go to the US.

And also depends if immigration asked for it at this time, or the attorney was just preparing it to have it ready.

Just a note and update:

If immigration actually asks for something, such as an updated DS-230, or some other docuement, it needs to be submitted now, not when there are visas available again. Or you may be waiting and waiting and waiting. They only ask once, if you do not complete what they are asking in a reasonable time, they go onto the next person. Depending on when your PD date is also figures into this now. If they are asking for something, it means that they are looking at your file now. Later on, and they not do anything with it at all. And you will be stuck.

Understand that they are only asking now if they truly want it.

Hi fruity! Yes, this means that your case was already completed. I also received that kind of email from NVC (last OCT 2006 and again last July 18) Just wait for the automated response system to be updated, try calling tonight around 8pm. Goodluck! :)

I called NVC last night around 8pm and you are right, its been updated. My case was completed July 30. Thnaks!

A LONG WAY TO GO>>>>>>>>>>>>>>:uhoh3:

I thing everyone here who resubmitted their DS230 used the one that expired July 30. There is still no new DS230 availabble even from the website of the state department. Since our cases were already completed that means the form was accepted and unless we get another letter from NVC, we should be fine.

how long will the case be completed/approved after filing DS230? (if there are no probelems regarding documents etc.?) is it 6-8 weeks? thanxs!

Case completion usually occurs 2 to 4 weeks from the time documents are received by NVC assuming there are no problems. My documents were received July2 and my case was completed July 18. Same trend from the others who resubmitted their documents this July.

DS230 forms are not being processed by service centers(these centers process AOS), DS230 froms are processed by NVC. And it only takes 2-4 weeks to complete not 4 months. This was the average time of completion last year and also for this year. Ds230 submitted this July were completed this July for those who had no missing documents.

The issue is that the DS-230 forms have expired, and they need to be resumbitted with the bar code. This is what is being sent out. If you are downloading the form from the website, that does not contain the barcode, and means that yout attorney is transferring the information to the one that they receive and then send it on for you. The service centers and NVC, and everyone else, do not accept the DS-230 without the bar code on it. That is my point.

NVC is not one room, they have offices all over that handle the petitioning process. And some centers are faster than others.

There are new forms that are available and have been sent out by the US State Dept, which oversees all of immigration. The form is not available on the website because there is a retrogression in place currently. And unless they have requested the information, then it is not even looked at and is returned. This is the point that I am trying to make over this.

And if the form has expired, then it will not be accepted when you have your interview, you will need to have a form that is current. You still have to go thru an interview at the US Embassy. And they require that all forms and documentation be current.

Your choice as to what to do, but this is what immigration wants.

And the average wait of time for approval on the DS-230 has been several months, not just two weeks. And I am being specific for all countries. And many times additional information is needed.

The issue now is that there are no visas, so does not matter when a case was completed. They are gone at the moment. This is now August, and the August Bulletin is in effect.

Hi,

My priority date is 27 Sept 2006 and NVC issued visa fee bill on 2nd July 2007. My agent asked me to send money for my spouse and child. I paid the money but I am not sure whether or not my agent paid the visa fees to NVC.

I have noticed on NVC's websiste that when a priority date become current, NVC start processing the case and process up to completion? As per July Visa bulletin, dates were current (in August bulleting no dates cut off date mentioned but they put it as unavailable). That means my case is eligible for futher processing and my agent can still pay my visa fees and submit DS-230 etc. and if there is a visa available for me in next fiscal year (starting from October 01, 2007) my case can be moved to my assigned consulate! Am I right?

Alina
