I am starting a new thread to track cases from NVC - embassy to GC.
The best news for RN in China, Phillippines and India has been great and informative thread, but I think it is more appropriate and convenient if we start a new thread.
Also with the rapid scheduling of interviews for most of us, I am looking beyond the CP and anticipating the GC!
The August interview schedules are out already in India, and recently in the Philippines and hopefully in China.

When was your DS-230 submitted, and was it the new one that just came out? The previous ones expire this week. When did they actually mail the documents? You usually need to allow about two weeks for them to get it to the correct file, it is not done immediately.
Suzanne,we resubmitted the the new DS-230 to our lawyer last june 27 and they submitted our documents last July 6.The first email showed that NVC received our complete documents last July 13.However the second email dated july 27 stated that the DS230 of one or more of my family members is not with them.A ccording to the NVC ,they gave a letter to our lawyer last July 25. I called my lawyer just today but they have not received such letter .So disappointing.....same thing happened to me last sept 2006 and got caught by retro...what will i do now????
Rang the embassy today they confirmed they had recieved my file and i should expect some good news in 4-6 weeks:D. The lady was so nice even wished me luck for the rest of my journey.

hi fruity! i think you case is not yet finished, coz if it is, the mail would state "you are documentarily qualified"
The NVC ask to resubmit an updated DS230 form, but then our immigrant lawyer old us no to submit yet since there are no visas now, and when our PD is current again that will be the time that they will forward the updated DS230 form back to NVC. For those who have submitted their updated DS230 form back to NVC according to our lawyers you will submit again another new Ds230...What can you say?

hi fruity! yes, this means that your case was already completed. i also received that kind of email from nvc (last oct 2006 and again last july 18) just wait for the automated response system to be updated, try calling tonight around 8pm. goodluck! :)

if the NVC has asked for updated forms then always best to send them in straight away so not to cause any delays. Many here have already sent the new updated forms to NVC and have had no problems. True there are no visas currently but if some come through and your file is not complete then it will go to someone who's file is complete

oppss! i didn't sent the updated one. i sent the one that expires today. eekk!!! but my file is complete since July 24, 2007. will they require me send another one?

I should image that if your file is complete then you are OK as NVC have been asking for updated DS230 since June. I would check with your lawyer as I believe it must have a barcode on.
well, my lawyer sent me the barcoded page..and i was asked to just download the form on the internet on that letter. so, i downloaded the one with the expiry on july 30, 2007.
