My co-req of nutrition with my second semester of med-surg/psych is a complete disaster!!!! I went into the semester completely ignorant. So far I'm failing nutrition with a 73% average (75% is passing) and passing the med-surg/psych with a 77%. I feel like a complete moron which is affecting my nursing portion of the course. Have any of you had the same experience??? I seriously believe nutrition should be a pre-requesite not a co-requesite. Anyone else agree as well????? I guess this is more of a whining rant but I gotta get it out I can't stand it!!!

I actually liked my Nutrition class up until we started getting into the details of all the vitamins.. It would've been a piece of cake if that's all we had to focus on but there were a lot of other things we had to study too. USE FLASHCARDS! it helped me

I hate nutrition. Ours is laced through the courses, and we can take a stand alone if we want, or wait until we do our BSN (ADN program right now). I'm waiting.
Dig yourself out of that hole and move on. No good advice, just sympathy. I would rather repeat micro over and over than have to look at that nutrition. Blah.

As a BS-nutrition who went nursing...my advice is to memorize memorize memorize. Flash cards, like the other poster said. Have you had organic chem or biochem? Nutritional chemistry is very similar if you have. Just memorize.

I get to take nutrition this summer as a degree requirement. It was waived as an entry prereq since I already have a science degree. I don't mind taking it. I'm doing it online. Just another hoop to jump through.
I'll try the flashcards thanks guys!! I think a huge problem is I'm so fixated on the med/surg part that I'm kind of brushing nutrition to the side .. thanks for replying!
