"Low patient turn-out" is a reference to compliance/fu appts, etc. There are many reasons for that: low socioeconomic level, lack of knowledge, and nursing care in the home (country ppl take care of illness at home often, unless it's beyond their knowledge or ability). Nurses' attitudes can affect these attitudes.
If the attitude is positive, the greater the chance
the patient will show compliance. However, if the
attitude is negative, the patient may show non-compliance by not taking meds correctly or not showing up for FU appts.
Country or rural ppl are not that different from most; if they feel the nurse is listening, respectful, etc., they respond accorsingly.
