Nursing scrubs are darn expensive

Just spent a ton on scrubs for the summer. Why are these things so darned expensive?It ticks me the heck off(I'd rather spend on other stuff:D).

I mean to get good stuff, you spend a ton.Does this tick you off too?

Depends on when you shop and what you shop for. I never pay more than $15 for either the top or trouser.

Can't say since I'm not sure what your definition of expensive or good stuff is. Elaboration?

For what our scrubs go through and the number of washings and dryings they have to endure (compared to regular street clothes), they aren't so bad. That said, I try to strike a balance between durability and price.

I usually get tops for $12-15 and bottoms for $15. Not too bad considering what they go through.

I complain about this too, but (much to my annoyance), someone in the non-medical field always has some version of a comparison to "regular" work clothes and it really comes out to be about the same (if not cheaper) than every other profession. :p I usually try to buy basic colors of pants (black and navy blue seem to be my favorite) and coordinate them with a wide range of different print tops. Scrubs online can be cheaper, but you usually have to shop around a bit, and it can be a hassle if you have to return them because they don't fit properly or you don't like them.

I make my own tops, raglan sleeves so Idon't have to insert sleeves. Get to pick pretty prints, and I only buy the less expensive cotton at Walmart. Get plenty of nice comments from patients too. $8 plus my time.

Believe me, I won't have too much of a problem shopping for the above.

I love my scrubs and I think the most I have ever paid is $18 for a special top. Most of them are under $15 each piece and I wear them for years. Check into a uniform warehouse in your city many of them sell shoes also.
