Nursing School Pen Pal

Anyone ever considered getting a nursing school pen pal? I know this term is very 1990 but I think it would be a good learning experience and also an extra support system. The oppurtunity to share your test scores, your struggles, your clinical experiences and see how someone else is handling nursing school sounds so awesome to me! I'd love to hear your stories! Anyway, if anyone is interested PM me :)

Specializes in Electrophysiology, Medical-Surgical ICU.

I'm interested too :-) ...and btw I'm not picky either ;-)

I'm interested too :monkeydance:

I would be interested in doing this as well!

I had to chuckle when I read this. Pen pals definitely predate 1990.. ;)

I am very interested in having a penpal. I just missed passing Med/Surg 3 by 5 points. I was supposed to graduate in May of 2011, but now have to wait another year. I would love to talk about school and other things because my husband couldn't give a care less about what I'm talking about. He absolutely does not understand what it is like to be a parent while going to nursing school! Just PM me!

I can truly understand what you mean about the husband....mine is finally taking interest....I'm not in yet....will be applying for the fall for bsn and/or adn. I think the pen pal idea is great :yeah:.....everyone need a personal ear that can truly relate to what you're going through. I applied for a bsn program for the spring but didn't get in cuz I didn't score high enough on my A & P part of the hesi....so I'll be taking it again soon but also decided to apply for some adn programs as well. I thought since I finished all my academics for the BSN program that should be the only route I should take.....boy was I wrong ...I decided not to put all my eggs in one basket this app period and get in where I fit in...and if it means a ADN program and bridge afterwards I'm gamed....but to get back on track ...no one in my family really understood how depressing it was to not get accepted or should I say to receive the denial letter. ONLY another applicant can really relate...they keep saying ...."Ahhh it's ok...there's always next time" PLEASE somebody tell them it just don't roll off that easily. I needed a pen pal!!

Yeah, I think having a pen pal who is also a student nurse would be a great idea. I'm a student nurse (2nd year BSN) and I'm from India. I'd love to hear from you, if you are interested in corresponding :)

Specializes in Anesthesia, CCU, ICU.

I would love to do this! I think it's a great idea.

I would like to have a penpal as well. Im not IN the nursing school; I still have to finish up a semester of pre-reqs first and going to be trying to go on the accelerated path for a BSN. If interested, anyone can write to me through the site or my email ~~~~> [email protected]. :)

Im not in my program yet, but I am going to be taking the accelerated route. :)

I reposted this message. I'm not sure how to delete this at the moment.

I would love to be your penpal. I'm in my 2nd year of an ADN program. I also am starting a student nurse job next week! If you're interested just email me: [email protected].
