Hello All- I wanted to start a thread for those of us that are waiting for nursing school acceptance letters (or rejections:madface:) for this fall. I know that at my school all the pre-nursing students are talking about it and asking each other if they have heard anything.
So when you get a letter (of if already have) let us know:yeah:
*Sigh*.... all you lucky people! The original deadline for my community college LVN program was April 1st, and then April 18th, and now May 9th (class begins in August). They keep bumping it due to the lack of qualified applicants. I suppose knowing that I meet the requirements helps, but constantly bumping that date worries me that they may have an influx of even MORE qualified students edge me out...lol. I don't expect to hear from the college until 30-45 days after the deadline, so that puts me waiting until possibly mid-June.
Sadly-- when I say 'qualified applicants', it really doesn't take much to meet the college's specifics here. Decent scores on the NET with no more than 3 areas below nat'l averages on reading and math, and only 4 very simple pre-req's (Intro to A&P, Office Computers, Medical Terminology and Interpersonal Communications). It boggles my mind tha:chucklet some states/ colleges have such terrible waiting lists and here in Waco, we don't have enough 'good' applicants! Hmm... guess that doesn't speak well of us....lol. :chuckle
So we were just allowed to apply, finally after the program being frozen in order to get rid of the current waiting list. So now I have finally been able to turn in my application, I have a 3.78 Cum Gpa, so I think that is pretty good. Our application period ends May 30, so I should hear something 6 weeks after that. I am sure in July I will be checking the mail box all day!
Good Luck everyone!
I got a phone call today from the admissions office letting me know I would be getting a letter in the mail in the next few days offering conditional acceptance (provided I pass drug tests, background check, etc) and then I am IN!! I am so excited!! The best thing is, everyone in my study group got in too! We will all go through it together! Minus one girl who is going into radiology instead. I'm on cloud 9! I am really gonna be a !

OMG, I would move there at this point just to get in.:chuckle I won't know anything until June for the first RN program I applied to and also an LPN program I applied to. In July my second acceptance/rejection letter will come and this is the one I want to get into. I can't wait to know who wants me and who doesn't.:bugeyes:
I got my acceptance letter today! Whoo-hoo! We were told it would be 30-45 days after the May 9th deadline, but what'd ya know-- it came today! I've got orientation on June 11th, but classes don't begin until mid-August. I'm super excited-- both myself and a friend I made in one of the pre-req classes both made it! Yea us!!!!
:anpom::anpom::anpom::anpom:
I just recieved both acceptance letters today!:) One is from Blue hills( I recieved a letter 3 weeks ago stating I was on the waiting list). I also am accepted to The soldier's home of Practical nursing. I am going with Soldier's since it is a free school. I just want to tell people out there to keep trying. Because It has taken me 2 years to get into a REAL program. The last school I was accepted into(Holden healthcare) closed down before I even could start, they now owe student's money and the attorney general is taking them to court for our money.
I am totally psyched that my wait is almost over. I am suppose to get two letters on June 3. One for my second choice RN and one from an LPN program I applied to(my back plan). I am also waiting for my first choice RN letter but it won't com til July 3. So after these letters come I still have to wait for the one I REALLY want. Good luck to those that are waiting with me and CONGRATS TO THOSE THAT MADE ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!
I received my acceptance letter yesterday. Wow now the new adventure begins. I am 54 and starting the career I wanted to do when I finished high school. After thirty years in electronics the chance has come. I just said that to all of you who doubt yourself because of whatever reason. I cannot tell the future. God has handed me a chance to find out the truth of this desire to be a nurse:nurse:. The next 2 years I am sure will be harder than I know. Best wishes to all in your studies.
