  1. Not yet! I’ve been looking, but so far around here there doesn’t seem to be a huge need. Yet. No refresher, just the license. So I’m not sure where I could work. But I wanted to be prepared in case! Oh WOW!! That was quick!! Mine is good for 2 years.
  2. In case anyone else is searching for this info. I applied on the 25th and less than 10 days later I was approved! Now to figure out who would take me.
  3. I haven’t worked as a nurse in almost 10 years and when Texas temporarily waved the requirements needed to reinstate a license Because of the pandemic, I sent my paperwork in. Any other TX nurses doing the same and have you gotten approved yet?
  4. A&P II - A Microbiology - A Spanish I - A I'm 36 and this is my 2nd full semester back after years away and I've made all As both times. I'm mighty proud! Hope I can keep it up this fall when I start nursing school.
  5. I got a phone call today from the admissions office letting me know I would be getting a letter in the mail in the next few days offering conditional acceptance (provided I pass drug tests, background check, etc) and then I am IN!! I am so excited!! The best thing is, everyone in my study group got in too! We will all go through it together! Minus one girl who is going into radiology instead. I'm on cloud 9! I am really gonna be a !
  6. I agree with the person who said it all depends on what type of student you are. I was told not to take 2 sciences in the same semester, but I did it anyway and pulled As in both. You have almost a 4.0, so it sounds like you are a serious student. I say go for it!
  7. If you haven't gotten anyone to help yet, I would be glad to. Contact me through my profile here and I will give you my email address.
  8. Looks like I am in the minority here, but I would say it IS doable. I did it in a 5 week course. Not only was it my first college level science course, it was also my first science course since 1987! I finished with an A. Good luck in whatever you decide to do!
  9. I'm registered and I have decided instead on A&P I Pharmacology Intro to Pysch Computer Literacy
  10. After 7 years of being out of college I am going back! I registered today for my first pre-req class! I start next Monday! YAY! I am taking Chem 1405 Wish me luck!
  11. I think I have finally decided on A&P I, Pharmacology, and a PE class.
  12. Thank you! And good luck to you too from one Texan to another!
  13. This is the best thing I have read in this thread so far! And something I really needed to hear today. I was getting a bit discouraged today when I realized how long it is going to take me to finish my pre-reqs and that I will be in my late 30s before I can even apply to nursing school. But as you said, I will still be in my late 30s, why not be in my late 30s and be doing what I want to be doing!
  14. I'm 35 and am about to start on my pre-reqs after having been out of college for 8 years and never having taken any science courses since Biology I in the tenth grade. WoW!
