Were you able to secure an apartment before you got there, or did you visit before and get it before the final move?

Actually, I'll be at the south campus, I might be on the north campus occasionally if I'm on call.

I'm from South Florida, and am planning on moving to Fargo late April. I'll be in the O.R.

I have the opportunity to choose between working as a circulator in a Level 1 trauma hospital's main O.R. (orientation 6 months) or their outpatient O.R. (orientation 3-4 months) I feel like the main O.R. would give me more knowledge, varied experience, and more future options, but after working one year in med-surg and finally leaving the floor, I'm kind of burned out and would welcome working in an area that isn't as acute, hence I'm leaning more towards the outpatient surgical setting. O.R. nursing is something I've wanted to do for a long time. I really just want to be happy with my job. Is it possible to make the move, if I wanted to in the future, to a main O.R. after only having outpatient surgery experience?

I found out last week I was denied as well.

Yeah, I know what you mean. It's been really hard not hearing anything. Hopefully we hear some good news soon. Did they indicate to you how soon they would have a decision?

Hi, I interviewed for the OR internship at JMH two weeks ago as well. I have not heard back...have you heard anything?

The trick definitely works. Took the test yesterday. Came home, tried the trick, and got the good pop-up. Looked on the BON website this morning and found out I passed!

It is possible to take two sciences together and get As in both of them. I took A&P 1 and Chemistry together and got As in both of them. I'm also currently in the 4th semester of the nursing program. I would say if you know you can handle it, go for it!

The bare minimum that MDC will accept is 2.0, but you have to understand that there there are hundreds of students applying. Student selection is based almost entirely on GPA. So, if there are 100 students applying for 20 spots, the ones that have the highest GPAs will be chosen, even though those with a 2.0 or 3.0...still meet MDC's admissions standards.

I have a B.A. from a previous school, and I'm currently in the generic option. They only counted my science prereqs at MDC and one math class from my previous Bachelors. No other classes from my previous degree were taken into account to calculate GPA. I simply received credit for having taken them.

Congrats to all of you! Reading all your posts reminds me of last year. The ATI and critical thinking tests you take before starting are only diagnostic tools to assess your learning styles and how well you are at thinking critically. There's nothing to study for. It has no impact on your admission into the program.
