so many of you know that i failed my nclex in april and then disappeared from all nurses....i took some time off to relax , regroup and get down to the nitty gritty in a attempt to overcome my failure....i retested 6-24 and and very relieved to say that i have passed the nclex- rn (according to quick results) ....i am currently waiting for the texas bon to issue my license and they are slow as christmas.. so i am back and heavily researching rn to bsn/msn options....thanks again to nc girl for her faith in me..... your gift helped me make it through.......

you know one thing i prepared for was anxiety while doing the cpne....what i did not count on was anxiety related to the nclex....i breezed through the cpne but the fell apart at the nclex first time around.... i realized that taking this test as new grad and a experienced lvn was completly different. there are some things that i drilled in my head prior to my second go around...

1) i am the rn - think it and you will be it

2) it does not matter if you go pass 75 questions..you can pass at 265 questions and i did....

3) with regards to the nclex questions all teaching is done by the rn...

4) with regards to the nclex lvn's take stable patients with predictable outcomes...

5) the test wants to what you would do in patient situations not that the initial move would be to call the doctor...

6) this test is not reality..it is based on ideal situations in a fantacy world......so you have got to learn how to play it's game

it was very hard for me considereing i have been a lvn for a while and have a wide variety of experience....i would have rather have taken the cpne twice than the nclex again....cpne is 100% more real nursing to me than the nclex...i wish you luck ....take your time dont worry about what people are doing around you...i went in my test with about 15 nurses from all over ...i was the last one out...take your breaks to regroup....dont rush.....the first time i tested i got all 265 when i passed the 75 question mark i completley freaked out.....this time i got 265 and when i passed the 75 mark i took a break and slapped myself back into reality......

hey denise, say a quick prayer for me, i take nclex july 14 at 2pm. i never had test anxiety until i failed my first cpne now i am a jiggling bowl of jello i am so nervous. what is that about?

Good Luck Maureen! Denise gave some great pointers. Don't get caught up in the numbers because I also passed with 265 questions. The NCLEX is one crazy test but we all gotta go through it . Also dont forget to know lab values. I had about 4 or 5 of those.

Specializes in EMS, ED, Trauma, CEN, CPEN, TCRN.

The first thing I did when I sat down at the computer for the NCLEX was write out the ranges for common lab values (sodium, potassium, etc.) as well as the normal result ranges for ABGs, just so that would be one less thing to remember. And darned if I had NOTHING pertaining to any of that on my NCLEX. Ha ha!
